In a short story, James Joyce makes reference to The Terrible
Patagonians ---- possibly a reference to the winds, possibly the Roaring Forties, does anyone know if the Patagonians was a regular namme for these winds? |

Yes, its from "Evelyn" -- a scholar friend is trying to determine if the coinage is pure Joycean or was once in regular use. Thanks for the info. |
