Sword ban . .. .

ah, I see.
just because your american constitution says its ok, please don't assume
for a moment that the more civilised thinkers on the rest of the planet
agree with your right to bear arms.

do you not agree that the availabilty of lethal weapons causes many
unnecessary deaths?

No. A hammer is a lethal weapon. Should we ban those too. The fact
is the the tool used to kill someone is just that. A tool. A hammer
and some nails sitting in a pile don't build a house without someone
knowingly utilizing them to accomplish something. When you see a
beautiful painting do you say 'wow that was a great paint brush'. Of
course not. The responsibility is not in the innanimate object, it
lies in the user. The vast majority of legal firearms owners and
sword owners never harm anybody with those objects. They understand
that it is a things that can do something bad so they are responsible
with it. Why do people feel the need to restrict freedom and place
blame on an innanimate object to attempt to feel safer? It doesn't
make you safer. In fact it makes you more of a victim. If someone
breaks into my house to rob me, kill me, and rape my girlfriend they
have all the power they need in just a kitchen knife. My gun, swords,
and fighting knives gives me the power to fight back and stop them.
Making lethal weapons illegal only restrics people that follow the
law. The criminals don't care if you say they can't own a gun or a
sword, they do it anyways. Murder should be considered more
horrendous than owning a peice of sharp metal. The metal does nothing
without the murderer.
