Ah, you saw Captain Ron, didn't ya. GPS satellites being shot down seems very unlikely compared to the frequency of mishaps that actually DO happen. Far less likely than the other things you mentioned, obviously. Not to mention the fact that virtually every country on Earth uses *our* GPS train of satellites. What if Magnetic North suddenly moves? It moves every minute of the day, fortunately not very far. Max Try explaining all of this to Katy. She doesn't trust GPS's because she's afraid that all of the satellites might get shot down. This is like being afraid that the sun won't rise tomorrow. My guess is that if the most technologically advanced country on the world attempted to shoot them all down, they would "maybe" graze two or three of them. And why would they do it? CWM CWM Now wait a minute...I did not say that at all...I asked what if....sailor's should have the basic skills and not have to rely on electrical equipment...Be Prepared, as the Boy and Girl Scouts say...your interpretation skills are rather shoddy... |

It's your critical thinking skills, not my interpretation skills that are failing here. CWM No...if that were so then all the rest of the group here wouldn't have the same problems with you as I do...it would be a sin gular event...only skills in question here are yours... |

Just take a Bowditch's and a plastic sextant along. If everything electronic fails you can at least find a use for your spare time. Max |

Well that less than most technologically advanced country in the world, China, has already convincingly demonstrated an ability to blow at least one up. And why would they do it? The Chinese? Who knows, their little satelite demolition demo was a pretty flagrant provocation, but to what end and why? Perhaps your answer lies in that answer? Now that's almost Zen, where the hell is Jax?
