Has nothing to do with politics. It's just that with a very few exceptions
I
don't enjoy listening to much music composed after about 1900.

You don't enjoy Aaron Copeland? Or Samuel Barber??

Sure thing... I have a friend who's the same way... only listens to Haydn.

That's pretty damned narrow, even for someone whose tastes are to better
music than today's country.

If you've signed a birthday card or two, you've written more *words* than BB

Nope. Just someone who knows a bit more about rhyming and non-rhyming
poetry
than you're ever likely to.

That seems highly unlikely.

Good comeback, BB. That nailed him.

You should communicate with the folks at CIA immediately, as they
apparently
don't know whether he is or is not "in charge of" the people supplying the
weapons. Your evidence on the point would, I'm sure, be most welcome.

I'm just quoting the Pentagon. Sorry if you don't believe them.

Joe, hate to burst your bubble, but Saddam did destroy and not attempt to
rebuild his WMDs.

Maybe...but he failed to allow inspetor to inspect, he fired weapons
at our planes in the no fly zones, he basically failed to live up to
his surrender for invading Kuwait. Remember thats the place were he
torched 100's of oil wells.

Actually he did allow them back in and we pulled them out. Check it out. I'm
not making it up.

This was a combination of Saddam misreading Bush and of
Bush LYING about why we should invade. If Bush didn't know the facts, he
should have searched them out. He didn't.

Yeah maybe he should of sucked Saddams dick too huh Jon?
IIRC every member of congress voted to take out Saddam except one
coward.

Maybe you should have volunteered to do that.

You mean one person who stood up for what was right, which according to the
right-wingnuts was a coward (and coincidently right).

Which Hitler is that? Saddam or the president of Iran, who is a
slimeball,
but apparently not in charge of the people supplying the weapons in Iraq.

Well Saddams dead and in Hell, so it must be the other one huh? If
that clown can not stem the flow of weapons used to murder American
establishing freedom for the Iraqi people then maybe we need to
encourage him and let him know it's better for him to deal with the
criminals than have us do it with B-52's. After all he is the elected
leader.

Which one? The president of Iran or the religious leader? We wouldn't want
to nuke the wrong Hitler.

Yup... another useless war... one we can't win and will just make the
situation worse.

You make think 160 of our guys getting murdered is a usless reason to
fight back... I do not.

So, nuke millions of people because of the death of 160. Sounds quite
hitler-like to me.

Not really Country. Unless of course, you think Wayne Newton is
country.

CWM

Tell Nashville that...the country genre has changed dramatically in the
last decade..hence the popularity of Faith Hill, Cheryl Crowe, etc.
Country has always had those that crossed over into the pop charts.
Dolly Parton has had several single hits that went pop...now if they can
just find a way to get Kelly Pickler to not flat out when she's nervous
maybe we'll have the next Dolly...

In other words, Nashville has gone pop/pap, because country really
doesn't sell well.

If you mean the Conway Twitty type country, let it die a quiet
death...now if you're talking about Willy Nelson type of country, that
will always sell...

They are among the exceptions, though I'll confess that Copeland is an
acquired taste. On the other hand my appreciation of Wagner is highly
selective.

Yah...I agree with you on that one...some off his stuff is....bad
music....but then again, some is very good....the Overture to the
Meistersinger of Nuremburg is lovely while other parts of the opera a
more than a yawn...same with the Ring Trilogy...for every good aria
there are 2 bad...one of my favorite 20th century classicists is
Alexander Borodin... I love the Polovetsian Dances and think there is
some really marvelous music in Prince Igor.
