For those in OZ and other non gun countries, go back and look at
what happened in Fla , USA. Rental cars had a Z as a middle number or
letter. Tourist were being robbed and SHOT quite frequently while
driving rental cars. It did not take a high IQ robber to rationalize,,,
rental car,, good chance a EUROPEAN driver ,,,therefore NO GUN to defend
themselves. Hey take a choice ,,, rob an unarmed European tourist or an
American RED NECK or any other American citizen who has a good chance of
being ARMED . The state of Fla removed the Z from the tags.. The Z was a
target. Tourist murders dropped over nite
GUNS DON`T KILL ,,, the Person holding it does. Also Gun control is
HITTING YOUR TARGET.

Florida 1997 passenger issue. In 1994, Florida responded to a rash of
tourist killings in the state. They discontinued the use of special
"Lease" plates on rental cars, which could help thieves identify
tourists. In 1995-96, they further gave counties the option to remove
the county name from plates and return to the "Sunshine State" slogan.
This would help make it more difficult for rentals to be identified by
the county (more rental cars would be registered in tourist-friendly
counties). Only two counties took advantage of this option, Dade and
Bay, more or less defeating the purpose. This is one of those plates
without the county name.
