I did a number of upgrades including some new instruments. I bought and installed the Micronet wireless stuff. So far so good. Is anyone else using these? Don't have it myself, but sailed with a couple of people who do. The biggest problem I've seen so far is that they sometimes reset themselves when off for a long period. Less of a problem IMHO than running wires, maintainence of same, and calibration problems associated with wire runs (shorts, surges, impedance match, etc etc etc). The next thing I expect hot-shot racers to come up with is a black box to read the competition's wireless instruments... or maybe a jammer.... -signed- Injun Ear (formerly known as Eagle Eye) |
