discount keeping the boat around there. Of course there is the Deltaville and
iIrvington areas. I love the Rappahanok River and the sheltered big water
sailing. Not unlike the Choptank. I would take a drive to Irvington...my 2
cents. Pamlico Sound is pretty and different. Not anywhere as big as the Bay.
Certainly not the deepest either.

Well You did not pick a cheap place to live. Why Smithfield...close to ham
Meca..? Ham Meca...now that is funny. Taxes are still reasonable here and the
realestate glut will make for some buying opportunities here on the shore. Of
course it is still miles from civilization as I remember it, which is why the
Eastern Shore is a nice place to come home to after traveling to other places
for my fix on civilization. Didn't you live in the great white north next to
one of those inland lakes great or otherwise?

With the demise of Michigan, we found ourselves in the dilemma of having
been forcibly retired, so Mr Sails recertified his teaching certificate
and we went where the offer was the best (near water)...he teaches
science in the Isle of Wight school district...we liked the area out on
the eatern shore...habing to pay 17 dollars everytime you need to go to
town for big shopping, though, is a bit much...they're doing a lot of
renovation in Cape Charles and the prices are high because they think
they're going to cahs in on something there, but I don't see that it's
going to work...not glitzy enough to attract the snowbird type of
retiree and no work for anyone skes...in 5 years we make the decision
where we're going to land for good...will most likely be North
Carolina...(although Mr Sails keeps saying the Upper Pennisula words
every noe and then, but I make faces and he shuts up...)

Nothing wrong with Va. Northern Neck. Really pretty there. Also Talbot County
Md on this side.... Great sailing access from both places.
