OT / It wasn't the coffee.

My keyboard started working again. It works just like new. I guess it wasn't the coffee I spilled
on it after all....
I think I figured it out. Every time I started my computer last week a box came up saying it couldn't
find a missing file. I Googled the file and it said the error was because a HP One Touch file was missing.
It said to re-install One Touch. That would get rid of the annoying box. So I re-installed One Touch.
It's for programming those five or six *special* buttons that open up WWW and Mail and whatever
you want the buttons to open for you. (I never use them!)
I guess installing it twice confused the rest of the keyboard. I shoulda uninstalled One Touch
using Add Remove programs before I installed it again. I know it because I found folders for
*One Touch* and *One Touch(2)* in my hard drive program file folder. So I deleted both folders.
I'm so happy. I was thinking I'd need to have a new keyboard installed. Now I can spend it on
Christmas presents....

Cheers,
Ellen

I'm glad you had a good day, Ellen, and your computer is fine now.

The last 7 or 8 hours of my day has been spent he

See "Body Found in Metro Standoff" and "Police Involved in Metro" videos.
These don't even begin to explain what I've been through today. It ended
with Mom and me telling the 12 year old girl that her dad is dead. The
ordeal was extremely gruesome. I'm sure in the next few days, you will hear
the rest of the story. I'm not allowed to comment, the police haven't
released all the details yet.

Maybe you could send the little girl and her mom a present. :-(

I don't have time to read the 200+ posts since early yesterday evening.
Actually, reading all of this bickering is getting tiresome. Life is too
short to spend it this way...

Yeah, those buttons are a great example of a feature no one asked for and no
one seems to use, or want. It's more trouble to take one's hand off the
mouse to push those buttons than it is to click on the shortcut.
I do use the volume and mute buttons, but that's it.
And I got tired of accidentally hitting the "sleep" button so I yanked it
out like a diseased tooth.
