This crazy Canook is saying a Canadian sniper in Afghanistan has been confirmed as hitting an enemy soldier at a range of 2,310 meters, the longest recorded and confirmed sniper shot in history. The previous record of 2,250 meters was set by US Marine sniper Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam in 1967. Keep dreaming Canaduh, you will never out shoot Americans. Joe |

What part of recorded and confirmend don't you get? In March 2002 during Operation Anaconda, a five-man sniper team from the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry set two new world records for farthest combat kill with a rifle. First, Master Cpl. Arron Perry broke the old record by hitting an al-Qaeda forward observer from a distance of 2,310 metres (over 1.43 miles). Days later, Perry's sniper teammate Cpl. Rob Furlong set the current world record by firing a shot from a .50 cal McMillan Tac-50 sniper rifle that killed an al-Qaeda soldier at an estimated distance of 2,430 metres (over 1.5 miles).[1] Both shots surpassed the long-standing previous world record of 2,250 metres (over 1.39 miles) set by U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Hathcock during the Vietnam War. Source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Patricia's_Canadian_Light_Infantry I'm not sure what that has to do with sailing though? |

Sailor killed in brawl laid to rest By The Associated Press WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Hundreds of people attended a funeral Saturday for an American sailor who was murdered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the man's family said. Petty Officer 1st Class Damon Crooks was stabbed to death Nov. 4 during an early-morning brawl on a trendy street in downtown Halifax. He was there as part of training exercises with the Canadian navy. About 400 people, including 100 uniformed military personnel, attended the funeral in West Palm Beach. The service featured a 21-gun salute and an a cappella version of "I'll Fly Away" - one of Crooks's favorite songs. Speakers remembered the young sailor as a brave "good Samaritan" who tried to help a fellow shipmate. Police have said Crooks was trying to break up a fight when he was stabbed. "They said so much about Damon," said Crooks's fiancée, Schyla Washington, who is eight months pregnant. "Everyone was crying. It was beautiful." About 30 American war veterans on motorcycles flying American flags lined the funeral procession and stood guard while Crooks' casket was loaded into the hearse by six of his shipmates. "It was very touching, very sad," said Crooks' uncle, Bertram Gooden. "I think it was really becoming of Damon. If he had to go, this was the way to go. There was not a dry eye left in the place." Cory Wright, 23, of Halifax has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Crooks. Wright is due in court Tuesday for plea. |

Right on Joe, everone in the world knows that Americans are bette r at anything you care to name than anyone else in the world, anybody who disagrees should be shot/bombed/tortured/jailed...... Well at shooting anyway, as seen in the results from the internati onal Sniper Contest at Ft. Bragg. BTW Canada has it's best shooting so d id Isreal Here are the final standings for the sixth annual International Sni per Competition: It happened Monday of this week and Patricia's boy came in 13th....t he best Canada could muster. Yeah well, shooting competions are just playing games, who would bot her to try hard? When it counts out in the field we wax your ass. Cheers Marty You mean like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarnak_Farm_incident You American's seem to really have it in for the PPCLI. Nothing to do with the Canadian military except that he was in Canada on training with them. He was apparently attempting to break up a civilian brawl and things went awry. The pilot said: Schmidt stated, in his official apology to the family and friends of the dead and injured Canadians: "My perception was that we had been ambushed, as we had been briefed that Taliban were expected to use ambush tactics in an around Kandahar...I believed that the projectiles posed a real and present danger to our flight and specifically to my flight lead...I believed at the time that my flight lead's transmission to 'check master arm, check laser arm,' indicated he concurred with my decision that the situation required self-defence. Where as the Canadian punk was a drunken murderer, I bet he stabbed Crooks in the back. Joe Drunken murdering punks are not an exclusive Canadian thing. I'm pretty sure you can find them anywhere there are punks that drink. Again I'm not sure what that has to do with the Canadian military or even Canadians in general? Well he was Canadian, and surely it was no accident. It's clear our pilot made a mistake in bombing the squad, but perhaps the canooks could have done more to ID themselfs if they are going to be firing weapons under a fighter jet. Back to snipers, guess your guys got in a lucky shot in afganstan, we will have to take their word for it. Seems with that sort of skill they could have done better than 13th place in the international's. Guess everyone has a bad day right? Or maybe your best are still in theater right?. Joe |

It would not suprise me if it's a Canook that finds Ossamas spider (rat) hole hideout. If we could only get thoses Gopher snipers in Montana to join Patricia's outfit it would be a shoe in for them pop ossamas top. Joe |

Good plan Joe, give them Weatherby Mark V's chambered for .270, even at 400 yds with Weatherby Mag. ammo (150 grain SP) the round is still carrying about a ton of energy, ought to explode a head pretty good! Cheers Marty |

Cheers Marty Actually the .284 is best for carrying energy. If all you want to do is carry energy why not the .460? I think the ..270 is great mix of flat trajectory and energy. Cheers Marty |
