OT - HISTORIC VICTORY FOR DIEBOLD!
HISTORIC VICTORY FOR DIEBOLD!
November 8, 2006 History was made this week! For the first time in four election cycles, Democrats are not attacking the Diebold Corp. the day after the election, accusing it of rigging its voting machines. I guess Diebold has finally been vindicated. So the left won the House and also Nicaragua. They've had a good week. At least they don't have their finger on the atom bomb yet. Democrats support surrender in Iraq, higher taxes and the impeachment of President Bush. They just won an election by pretending to be against all three. Jon Tester, Bob Casey Jr., Heath Shuler, possibly Jim Webb - I've never seen so much raw testosterone in my life. The smell of sweaty jockstraps from the "new Democrats" is overwhelming. Having predicted this paltry Democrat win, my next prediction is how long it will take all these new "gun totin' Democrats" to be fitted for leotards. Now that they've won their elections and don't have to deal with the hicks anymore, Tester can cut lose the infernal buzz cut, Casey can start taking "Emily's List" money, and Webb can go back to writing more incestuously homoerotic fiction ... and just in time for Christmas! But according to the media, this week's election results are a mandate for pulling out of Iraq (except in Connecticut where pro-war Joe Lieberman walloped anti-war "Ned the Red" Lamont). In fact, if the Democrats' pathetic gains in a sixth-year election are a statement about the war in Iraq, Americans must love the war! As Roll Call put it back when Clinton was president: "Simply put, the party controlling the White House nearly always loses House seats in midterm elections" - especially in the sixth year. In Franklin D. Roosevelt's sixth year in 1938, Democrats lost 71 seats in the House and six in the Senate. In Dwight Eisenhower's sixth year in 1958, Republicans lost 47 House seats, 13 in the Senate. In John F. Kennedy/Lyndon Johnson's sixth year, Democrats lost 47 seats in the House and three in the Senate. In Richard Nixon/Gerald Ford's sixth year in office in 1974, Republicans lost 43 House seats and three Senate seats. Even America's greatest president, Ronald Reagan, lost five House seats and eight Senate seats in his sixth year in office. But in the middle of what the media tell us is a massively unpopular war, the Democrats picked up about 30 House seats and five to six Senate seats in a sixth-year election, with lots of seats still too close to call. Only for half-brights with absolutely no concept of yesterday is this a "tsunami" - as MSNBC calls it - rather than the death throes of a dying party. During eight years of Clinton - the man Democrats tell us was the greatest campaigner ever, a political genius, a heartthrob, Elvis! - Republicans picked up a total of 49 House seats and nine Senate seats in two midterm elections. Also, when Clinton won the presidency in 1992, his party actually lost 10 seats in the House - only the second time in the 20th century that a party won the White House but lost seats in the House. Meanwhile, the Democrats' epic victory this week, about which songs will be sung for generations, means that in two midterm elections Democrats were only able to pick up about 30 seats in the House and four seats in the Senate - and that's assuming they pick up every seat that is currently too close to call. (The Democrats' total gain is less than this week's gain because Bush won six House and two Senate seats in the first midterm election.) So however you cut it, this midterm proves that the Iraq war is at least more popular than Bill Clinton was. In a choice between Republicans' "Stay until we win" Iraq policy or the Democrats' "Stay, leave ... stay for a while then leave ... redeploy and then come back ... leave and stay ... cut and run ... win, lose or draw policy," I guess Americans prefer the Republican policy. The Democrats say we need a "new direction" in Iraq. Yeah, it's called "reverse." Democrats keep talking about a new military strategy in Iraq. How exactly is cut-and-run a new strategy? The French have been doing it for years. The Democrats are calling their new plan for Iraq "Operation Somalia." The Democrats certainly have their work cut out for them. They have only two years to release as many terrorists as possible and lock up as many Republicans as they can. Republicans better get that body armor for the troops the Democrats are always carping about - and fast. The troops are going to need it for their backs. Sour grapes, Thom? Bwahahahahhahahahhahahahhah! Now, THAT'S funny! No sour grapes here. I am happy and content that the liberals have taken over congress. Now they will have to do something other than obstruct while pointing the finger and calling congress is a "do nothing" body. But, what they do you will not likely care for. The reason I am happy is "I've got mine." I have mucho dinero (a little Spanish lingo) in an offshore bank the liberals can't touch. I am retired so I don't pay income tax anymore. I live in a state that has no income tax. I pay no property taxes. I am happy because the Democrats promised to raise taxes. They say they will let the Republican tax cuts sunset. Good. I will enjoy your lowered standard of living. This means a family of four earning 50K will have to pay 3.5K in income taxes as opposed to the 1.5K they now pay under the Republican tax cuts. That means Democrats will pay it, too. I'm laughing at you Democrats most because while you gloat you throw your money away. Is it worth it? Seems to me the taste in my mouth is super sweet. The reason being because, not only will you ignorant Democrats have to pay more of your hard-earned money to the government, but you will be very unhappy to learn your liberal leaders in the House and Senate have already let it be known that there's not much they can do to get the troops out of Iraq. In other words they lied to you when they promised to cut and run. They never had any intention of doing so. They only said it to sucker you fools into voting for them. The president of Iraq, who met with Democrat leaders last September, said they told him they have no intention of leaving any time before Iraq is secure from terrorist takeover. Bwahahhahahahhahahahahhahahhahahahahh! Remember this come January. You will see how true my words are. Oh, man! I think I am getting dental caries! The taste in my mouth is so very sweet. It keeps getting sweeter because of the above and because Democrats are not interested at all in controlling the borders. They want to and will, now that they have control, pass an immigration bill that will assure millions and millions more illegals will continue to pour across the borders so they can register them to vote Democratic. They will put them on welfare and you will pay for it. I am able to get away from the illegal alien hordes. Are you? I am not paying for their welfare. Are you? Bwahahahahahhahahhahahahahhaahhaah! Oh hell! Bring me a tray of insulin shots. Democrat victory is so sweet that I think I'm getting diabetes. How can I help it when I know Democrats have been duped by the liberal branch of their party into voting for "change." Too bad you were too stupid to realize it is change for the worse. Higher taxes, U.S. forces not cutting and running from Iraq, swarms of illegal aliens and something else even worse - more liberal judges. Yes, more liberal judges who can take your referendums that you passed by large margins and declare them null and void. More liberal judges who can take your private property away so developers can improve the property and governments can charge higher taxes. Holy Cow! And how about this one? Gasoline prices going back up and getting even higher. Why? Because liberals are all for the environmentalists. They will not allow drilling for new oil. They will not allow new refineries to be built. They will not allow new nuclear power plants. They will not let coal use increase. In other words, prepare to remain dependent upon foreign sources of petroleum and be prepared to pay up to five dollars a gallon for your gasoline. Boy is it ever sweet knowing I don't need gasoline. Wind moves me around just fine. You Democrats can have your automobiles and your expensive gasoline. You asked for it. You got it! Gadzooks! Why are all those sugar ants crawling up my legs? Is it because the taste in my mouth is soooooooooo sweet that even way down there on the ground they can smell the sugar. Yes, sir! And it keeps getting sweeter. Why? Because you smug Democrats, who think you "won" an election, lost so much that you had and that you could have had if you had not been duped by your leaders. Let's examine what else you got duped out of. How about forgetting about collecting Social Security. The Democrats won't do anything about the fact the system will be bankrupt in less than 20 years. They refused to even consider any changes when President Bush wanted to do something about it several years ago. So try to remember, unless you are my age or greater, you will most likely never get the money out that you put in. But, I will happily collect your money and enjoy it. I will enjoy it all the more knowing you Democrats continue to work and pay my way. And even more so because you voted for it. Bwahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahh! Holy Islamic Fascist Terrorist! I cannot neglect to mention that under Republicans the United States of America has been spared terrorist attacks on our soil since 9-11. With Democrats in control, who see the war against Islamic Fascists Terrorists as a police action and a passing fad, you can rest assured that terrorist attacks will soon be showing again in a neighborhood near you. I am not worried because what self-respecting terrorist is going to waste his time trying to blow up an old cruising sailboat? I think they are much more interested in your homes, your schools, your shopping malls, your transportation systems . . . Bwahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahah. Oh my aching sides. I just cannot stop laughing at how pathetic you Democrats are. Imagine actually thinking you won and feeling smug about it. Great Caesar's Ghost! I just cannot wrap up this "no thoughts of my own" diatribe without mentioning liberal Democrats, like your newly elected majority leaders, just love growing government. You think Republicans grew government? Well, "you ain't seen nothin' yet!" Get ready for it and the high taxes it takes to pay for it. You already pay out about half your earnings for taxes. Don't be surprised if it goes up to 60-70 percent under the liberal Democrat leadership. Bwaahah hhahhahah hahahahhahahhahahhahahhahahahahah hahahahhahahhahah hahahahhahahah!Bwahahahhahhahahhaha hahhahahhahahhahahhahaha hahahhahahahhahah hahahhahahahhahahah. Oh, my sides! Did I forget anything? Yes, come to think of it I did forget something. I forget to rub your noses in the fact that under the Democrat controlled congress you'll probably end up paying an emissions tax to fight global warming. You could be facing a re-instatement of the draft. You will likely see higher taxes placed on "big business" who will just pass them on down the line to you, the consumer. You might see a national gasoline conservation tax to make you cut back on usage. You will see an increase in minimum wage which costs you will pay. You will have to pay more to heat and air condition your homes. You will have to pay taxes on your Internet purchases and maybe even on your Internet access. If Democrats do anything at all about FICA it will be to raise the withholding from your pay check. I hope they do. I'll savor the sweet taste of my monthly Social Security check all the more knowing how hard you Democrats are working to pamper my sweet tooth. Yes, please enjoy your "victory!" Everybody who has even a shred of understanding knows: Democrat = tax and spend. When any Democrat talks about reducing spending they are really talking about reducing the 15% rate of growth of spending by a couple percentage points. They call going from a 15% rate of increase down to 13% rate of increase a 2% cut in spending. Bwahahahahhahahahah! Losers like Gay Boy Ganz, Wash-out Walt, Ole Tenderfoot Thom, Butt Boy Baxter, Cadette Charlie Morgan and Jejune JimC are so stupid they call it a spending cut. You have cried that man's sins are destroying the world and you have cursed human nature for its unwillingness to practice the virtues you demanded. Since virtue, to you, consists of sacrifice, you have demanded more sacrifices at every successive disaster. In the name of a return to morality, you have sacrificed all those evils which you held as the cause of your plight. You have sacrificed justice to mercy. You have sacrificed independence to unity. You have sacrificed reason to faith. You have sacrificed wealth to need. You have sacrificed self-esteem to self-denial. You have sacrificed happiness to duty. You have fought for it, you have dreamed of it, and you have wished it, and I-I am the man who has granted you your wish. "Your ideal had an implacable enemy, which your code of morality was designed to destroy. I have withdrawn that enemy. I have taken it out of your way and out of your reach. I have removed the source of all those evils you were sacrificing one by one. I have ended your battle. I have stopped your motor. I have deprived your world of man's mind. "If you find a chance to vanish into some wilderness out of their reach, do
so, but not to exist as a bandit or to create a gang competing with their racket; build a productive life of your own with those who accept your moral code and are willing to struggle for a human existence. You have no chance to win on the Morality of Death or by the code of faith and force; raise a standard to which the honest will repair: the standard of Life and Reason. "Act as a rational being and aim at becoming a rallying point for all those who are starved for a voice of integrity-act on your rational values, whether alone in the midst of your enemies, or with a few of your chosen friends, or as the founder of a modest community on the frontier of mankind's rebirth. "When the looters' state collapses, deprived of the best of its slaves, when it falls to a level of impotent chaos, like the mystic-ridden nations of the Orient, and dissolves into starving robber gangs fighting to rob one another-when the advocates of the morality of sacrifice perish with their final ideal-then and on that day we will return. "We will open the gates of our city to those who deserve to enter, a city of smokestacks, pipe lines, orchards, markets and inviolate homes. We will act as the rallying center for such hidden outposts as you'll build. With the sign of the dollar as our symbol-the sign of free trade and free minds-we will move to reclaim this country once more from the impotent savages who never discovered its nature, its meaning, its splendor. Those who choose to join us, will join us; those who don't, will not have the power to stop us; hordes of savages have never been an obstacle to men who carried the banner of the mind. "Then this country will once more become a sanctuary for a vanishing species: the rational being. The political system we will build is contained in a single moral premise: no man may obtain any values from others by resorting to physical force. Every man will stand or fall, live or die by his rational judgment. If he fails to use it and falls, he will be his only victim. If he fears that his judgment is inadequate, he will not be given a gun to improve it. If he chooses to correct his errors in time, he will have the unobstructed example of his betters, for guidance in learning to think; but an end will be put to the infamy of paying with one life for the errors of another. |

Both houses! || and Walt wrote: "No thoughts of your own, eh? DIAF." Want to bet, Walt? There is one thing I can say about Democrats. They are soooooooooo out of touch with reality. Yes, please enjoy your "victory!" I think it's possible. I believe the Dems have an opportunity and a risk.
The opportunity is to put things back on track if they can work with Bush. The risk is that it turn into a witchhunt. I think there is a lot of justification for and there should be investigations by Congress into what happened w.r.t. the war in Iraq, the corruption that went on, and the state of affairs of homeland security. But, it should be a fact-finding effort, that only assigns blame and punishment to those who deserve it. It should not be a "let's get the Republicans" tar and feather party to ensure they remain out of power for 20 years no matter what. On the other side, Bush needs to get the message that the people want change, and he needs to truly try and work with Congress to get things done. He was able to do this as Governor, so it's time to get moving. I'm not convinced he's truly gotten the message, but it's possible. I think his presidency has been severely damaged, and certainly his "legacy" has been tarnished by the war in Iraq. It's possible for him to turn the remainder of his lame duck time into doing the right thing. It's up to him. My view is that he should dump the neocons who are left, sideline Cheney (who's power has diminished because Rummy is gone), and stifle Rove. In other words, he needs to start acting like the President of the US, not the president of his fan club. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Maxprop" wrote in message nk.net... "Capt. "Gilligan" wrote in message ... | http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...iewed-homepage | | I hope they go for the most leftist agenda possible. If they bow to the wishes of the moveon.com fanatics they will be in for a very big surprise come 2008. They actually think Democrats came out in droves to vote them in. Bwahahahahahhahahahhahahah! And what about all those conservative Democrats they ran against Republican incumbents? They tide will turn quickly against the Democrat party should they go way left. Probably the best thing that can happen for Republicans. It will assure Republicans retaking the House and Senate and the Presidency in 2008. Less than 30% of Americans call themselves liberals. 50% call themselves conservative. The rest are moderates and independents. Personally I think there are enough sensible people in the House who realize a time table like that is tantamount to defeat. I doubt they can get it passed. But, we shall see . . . Those Democrat leaders (leftists) will do anything they can to hurt this country. Losing another war like they caused us to lose Viet Nam would suit them just fine. Now elected and not even in office they're talking cut and run. By January will they have the surrender papers drawn? |
