Katrina that were all rubbed thru, but not a one Steel, all
fiberglass...Ask Bart.

burn to the waterline.


And I guess it didn't have any fuel or other combustibles
aboard? Fiberglass doesn't burn, period. It's GLASS.... the
melting point varies but is usually quite high and I have
personally worked with fiberglass insulation used in 3500
degree combustion chambers.

Now, the resin, on the other hand... also varies widely! If
you ever saw any fiberglass burn, with NO other cumbustable
material mixed in... then you were really watching the resin
burn.

resin....have you?

Damn it was the blackest smoke you ever seen, and after the gasoline
exploded the glass burned like old tires.

power it takes, concentrated on a small area, to make a
cutting agent work (and all the ones I know of are much
denser than pumice).

No, actually they're not. Many are built for the military
using resin that is either non-combustible or actually
flame-retardant.

Probably so, since it was built with common resin. OTOH I am
far smarter than to let it catch fire in the first place.
And steel or not, I hope you do likewise with your boat.

Besides, Red Cloud is 100% certain to rust away,
eventually... very few fiberglass boats will ever catch fire
and those mostly due to carelessness.

Some volcanic output is actually glass strands - fiberglass. Pumice is
softer.
