Hey Charlie

What's with the new attitude? You get a new prescription or
something? Did you finally get laid?

As 'Charlie' you seem almost human. As 'BB', Krusty' you
were the biggest asshole on ASA. What an amazing turn
around. Were you going through a divorce? Did you catch your
'ol lady in bed with a truck driver?

Wonder how long it will last?

They were all characters. I've said that before. I'm none

of them in
real life, except that I am totally a sailor, and have

been for a very
long time. When I feel a character has run it's course, I

create a new
one. Usenet is for entertainment purposes for the most

part. The ones
here who worry me are the ones who claim they are exactly

the same in
real life as they are in ASA.

Like me? Don't worry, I won't hurt you.

You're only fooling yourself, Krusty.

How come you stirred up such a ****-pot of trouble over at
the trailersailor BBS? An odd thing to do, for a person who
says they're not really an asshole.

Funny you should say that, you don't seem to talk much about
sailing.

If you didn't harrass or stalk them, you wouldn't have to worry.

Yep. Not a very good movie IMHO, but an interesting concept.

As for this theory that one "plays a character" on usenet,
there's somebody else around here who has the same
philosophy.... hmmm who could it be...

Makes you wonder why he would go out of his way to be such

Scotty,
I wouldn't say I was getting trashed in the other newsgroup, but only a few
gave me any benefit of the doubt. A few thought I was "all wet" for
expecting to hand over cash from my home equity loan to pay off someone
else's loan who didn't want to get a home equity loan to pay off his own
loan. Others thought I must be sinister and was up to no good - showing up
with cash like that! Imagine advising the seller to "use caution here" -
Christ almighty - I have f***ing cash and I wanted a title!! Anyway, I
didn't want to jump into the fray over there, and I have to say it was nice
of Charlie, whoever he really is, to speak up in my defense. I may not care
at the moment what some folks there think of me, but if I buy the Seaward, I
wouldn't mind posting and hanging there from time to time. Since they seem
to know Charlie, they at least listened to him and he gave my version of the
incident. I appreciate that even if the Seaward group didn't want to hear
what he had to say. I guess it's easier to believe the new guy is evil, or a
jerk. I don't know the whole story on the keel being ripped off the boat,
but I have to say again, thanks Charlie for helping me get that info. The
keel may have been repaired, but what other structural damage may have
resulted from the whack that boat took.
Anyway, if I get the boat I'll be in touch. Is there a ramp at your boat
club/marina? I'm gonna need someone to show me around the Chessy! :o)

I read the whole thing. It's typical for a forum group to
rally behind a regular and be suspicious of the new guy,
even without all the facts. When I was telling Lisa your
story, she reacted as soon as I mentioned you had cash and
the guy wanted you to wait. And apparently he did break the
keel, had it towed to FL and repaired by the factory, along
with some other stuff. He also broke the guides while
loading it on the trailer.
Are you still going to FL this w/e.?
Yes, there's a ramp there, it's free to members. Also, my
slip is available right now :(
The marina is gated so I would have to let you in. There's
also a $5 ramp at Steve'

Isn't the ramp at the BCC sailing center kind of shallow?
It's in a great location to begin a cruise though, and a
looks like a nice place for an afternoons sail.

Hey Charlie

yes, but not too shallow for the Seaward. I launched my Mac
from there many times. Some big power boats launch there
also. It used to be a free ramp, but I think they charge $5
now.

That ain't even funny! The guy was French and he killed a really delicous
looking babe. They say he had "Online Personality Disorder" ... neighbours
that knew him claimed he was a "nice guy". The parents thought he was only
"playing a character" on line. Now does that sound like somebody here?

My nephew was at the college when it happened. He was in the middle of that
insanity.

Word is this idiot used American Military Firing protocols..... you know...
fire enough bullets till you either eventually hit the broad side of the
barn or kill every man woman and child in the area.... then count the enemy
bodies.

BTW - Good to know your Nato pilots use the same discrimiation in target
aquisition as your regular troops.....
