Nice looking boat! Did you find a used one or are you
buying new? Trailer? Wheel or tiller?
Did you sail one, how was it? Where are you going to keep
her? What's the towing weight?
I see the beam is 8'4'', that's good!
Can't wait to see her,

Scotty

Thanks Scotty (and everyone else for the congrats!) I'm high as a kite right
now and can't wait can't wait can't wait to get her in the water!

This boat is perfect for me, sound enough for some coastal adventures,
dainty enough for some serious gunkholing. Towing weight is somewhere around
6K, per the current owner (not verified). But I'm pulling with a Dodge Ram
2500, 5.9L so I'm not too worried. And, I'll probably keep it in a slip for
much of the season. While I have my father around, I'll probably keep it
near him (South Jersey shore). Eventually I'll replant in the Chessy. In the
meantime, I'll be dropping her in and feeling my way around in your waters.

Anyway, it's a 2004, here's the list of options provided:

Wheel steering
Lazy jack system
Trailer, galvanized steel, tandem axel, surge brakes
Yanmar diesel, 2GM20, 18 hp, heat exchanger cooled
Wheel steering
Self-tailing Andersen sheet winches
Dodger
Bimini
135 genoa with luff tape
Schaefer Snapfurl headsail furling unit
Headsail sun cover, sewn on, Sunbrella (navy blue)
Stainless opening ports with screens (8)
Teak privacy door on head compartment
Deluxe fabric on interior cushions
ST40 Bidata Depth/Speed sounder with alarm, pedestal mounted
ST40 Wind with masthead windvane, pedestal mounted
ST40 Compass, pedestal mounted
Standard Horizon Fixed VHF radio with masthead antennae
Standard Horizon RAM mic remote VHF in cockpit
Saturn compass
Ceramic marine head with holding tank
Origo single burner non-pressurized alcohol stove
Shore power, includes cable
Hawspipes, stainless
Stern rail with seats (cat perches, 2)
Cockpit cushions, closed cell foam, textalene fabric, light beige color
Boarding ladder
Transom weatherboards, used to close transom when necessary
Battery charger, 3 stage, 20 amp, 3 bank
Starting battery, group 24 with box
House battery, group 24 with box
Mast raising system
Mast crutch
Mainsail cover (navy blue)
Bottom paint
Bilge pump with ice box drain

Bene's are gorgeous - if I had the bread I'd own one for sure.

Maybe you should look at this:

For just a little more money you can get twice the boat. A swing keel is
an option. 2'7" draft.

Cheers,
Ellen

Cool little boat Scout, you should be able to get into just about

Congratulations. Great looking boat. I saw one sailing in St. Joe's
Bay last spring and it really looked good. Can't wait to get some
sailing reports. That's one that is on my short list. Based on what
you said you want to do, I think it may be perfect. I think it may be
a little too heavy for what I want to do.

It needs a tractor/trailer. It's too wide to be legal on a regular little trailer.
But, you've got to admit it goes in some shallow places.

Cheers,
Ellen

I really liked that Shoalsailer that someone pointed out. I think it runs
200k+ though. Maybe in the next life!
