Risk of breaking something I suppose... in times past I had
the leach cut off for super-heavy weather sails. Obviously
not the thing to do with a brand new competitive main but a
blown-out sail is no good in heavy air to start with.

Flogging in a gale will age a sail real real fast, too. But
i love heavy air! A few months ago it was blowing in the 20s
and people were wandering around saying 'darn, too windy to
sail' and I said 'Baloney... c'mon!' Ended up taking out a
few people on their boat and having a blast... after a while
they even stopped shrieking in fear ;)
