First independent since Sam Houston to make the ballot.

Today in Houston he said this about the border:

We've waited 153 years for the feds to help us," Friedman said. "They
haven't yet. We have our own army. I want 10,000 Texas National Guard
troops on the border and I want them now."

It was one of four broad policy issues Friedman outlined Wednesday
along with crime in Houston, state spending and taxes.

On Houston's crime problem, Friedman said Hurricane Katrina evacuees
who relocated to the city and break the law or refuse to find jobs
should be sent back to Louisiana.

"The governor -- for good and charitible reasons -- invited a bunch of
people to somebody's house for dinner and he didn't stick around to
pick up the tab," said Independent Candidate Kinky Friedman. "And what
we have now is some guy washing his pickup truck in the morning and
getting blown away by Katrina victims."

"The musicians and the artists have mostly moved back to New Orleans
now, and the crackheads and the thugs have decided they want to stay in
Houston," he said.

"I'm just kind of stunned other politicians are not talking about this
stuff and are not doing anything," Friedman said.




He's got my vote.

A term or 2 as Gov...Then on to being the next President from Texas!

I'd probably vote for him. I would have voted for Jesse
Ventura too, although he'd have to make a campaign promise
to not wear spandex & feather boas in the White House. Roos
Perot was a creepy nut case though. Kinky Friedman at least
has a sense of humor.

Joe before you declare yourself, better find out whether or
not Friedman likes to torture people.
