This is a historic novel about a ship that voyages to above
the Arctic circle in 1905-1906. It is based on an unpublished
memoir or journal of one of the crewmen.

Here's a non-fiction book:

Truth is better than fiction.

Written by the second in command and leader of the small
group of survivors, it is a very intense story. Highly
recommended.

Looks like a good one. I'll get it when I have some spare $.

The one I mentioned (website near top above) is 95%+ true
according to the info.
