Yes, he did sail that, more often and more different places
than you'll ever come close to.

Nope, he chose a more practical boat for his purpose.
I believe that Doug is now exploring waterways by which you would only
have access in your ducky.

And I went panning for gold in Bear Mt. state park last month, but what
does that or Doug's Trawler have to do with sailing???

The real manly way would be to build a sluice and use high pressure water
to place volumes of choking sediment into the waterway while destroying
all erosion controls along the river bank. Just think.... a floating barge
with pump and sluice could wander it's way around, not only adding
sediment but destroying the bottom of the river at the same time.

It is smaller than I'm interested in, however, I did research WWP. A
good gunkholer, able to be beached. Light towing package, low HP
requirement to get to hull speed. Lot of loyal owners who think
highly of it. Resale fairly good.

Boat shown is no bargain, however, lots of good models for much less
out there. Owner proud of it.

I'm looking at the usual suspects in the 21-23 OAL length. Nothing
exotic. Precision is still high on the list. I'll know it when I see
it.

No.

Nice classic look but too heavy, too much draft, and I have too many
building projects currently underway to take on a boat.

I've already had several boats that had larger cockpits than the
boobspits wife's boat. The Columbia 24 shown had a larger cockpit
and, because it was a flush deck, it had more usable deck space.

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/bracki...e2.jpg&.src=ph

When you add a quarter acre swim platform to the aft end of a boat,
you have to give up something. Cockpit space and general handling
characteristics come to mind.

automotive electrical fittings, the winch placement and mainsheet rigging

I wasn't really even recommending that particular boat for Frank -
just the WWP 19 in general. It's a good boat for doing exactly what
he is talking about. The only question would be if it is large enough.

CWM

I'd recommend looking at a used WWP19 with the tall rig. Don't pay more than
5K$ with the trailer.

Weaknesses:
Keel trunk
Keel winch system
Warped front hatch
Asymettric topside deck mold
Keel rust
Asymmetric mainsheet rigging
Hardware may have to be replaced
Plastic cleats
Rudder retention pin
Has the lines of a streamlined Bolger box

Plusses:
Built like tank
Sails like tank
Easy to sell
Mega room inside for its size
Simple, easy to rig
Has the lines of a streamlined Bolger box

Lordy!
