Going Sailing again....

Yup, but Suzanne is working tonight. Thomas and I are sailing on a J29
tonight. I'm excited because this is a boat I really like to sail.
She's fractionally rigged with a modded keel (bulb added), but still a
bullet. Thomas will need extra protection on the J, but her owner is
axious to take him since he has his own baby on the way...due in
October.
I hope the temps and wind are like last night!

I can find out easy enough for you. She's called Extreme. The current
owner added the bulb.

Her owner is a very lucky man.

I wanted to sail with somebody else's kids before I took my own precious
offspring out for the first time.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anybody who would let me practise with their
kids. You are obviously a good friend, Bob.

Before Thomas came into our lives we were able to observe two close
friends sailing with thier newborns/toddlers. We really learned a lot.
One of those kids HATES boats now and the situation is a model for what
not to do. Some of their mistakes....

1) Owned a slow boat...a dull ride aboard a tired design.
2) Owned a boat that often had problems and led to too much down-time.
3) Didn't try hard enough to engage child in activities on board.

We try to keep Thomas engaged and redouble our visible enthusiasm for
sailing and the water for him. If we're excited and happy, so is he. We
have yet to send him below with his toys for the most part. He's
topsides with us, playing and helping...or trying to. I'm sure there
will be problems down the road, but thus far it's been a pleasure to
sail with young Thom.

He also let him 'practice' on Sudsy , before his honeymoon.
