Ok, I have to claim ignorance. Where is this? A sailing resort that rents Lasers and Hobie Waves? Tell me more. Bitter End Yacht Club. It's at the eastern end of Virgin Gorda, open the to trade winds and sheltered water of Drake Sound. I think the sailing end of it is tapering off due to lack of public interest, although it's a fine place to sail or windsurf & they have everything from an Express 37 9costs extra), J-24s (free), Lasers, Vanguard 15s, Hobie Getaways and Waves, and a variety of kayaks, windsurfers etc etc. It's also not a bad place to go snorkeling. I've been hoping a sailing resort would pop up on the Gulf coast... someplace with good wind... but so far I don't know of one. It's awesome to be able to have a comfy room, good meals, and walk down to the beach and pick your weapon for the day (or for the hour). So I take it you you don't have the Johnson 18 anymore? Nope, it has reluctantly gone to a good home. Right now I'm looking for something like a Melges 24 only cheaper (and hopefully a bit less labor intensive). Maybe one of these: http://tinyurl.com/zqxpx http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/High-...QQcmdZViewItem There are several for sale not too far from us. |
