This Beautifully crafted Astrolabe is working models of a 16th C.
Nautical Astrolabe that was in common use by navigators sailing from
Spain to the New World.
The Astrolabe was widely used throughout Europe in the late Middle Ages
and Renaissance, peaking in popularity in the 15th and 16th C.
Knowledge of astronomy was considered fundimental and use of an
Astrolabe was considered a sign of good breeding and education.
This Astrolabe would make an exciting gift for a Sailor, Navigator or
anyone interested in Scientific History !

Dimensions: Diameter 4.3cm.

Construction: Brass
