Cheap boat?
Anyone want a Lightning sailboat for cheap? Hull and deck are in good
shape as are the rudder and daggerboard. Rig is all there, but you'll need a new mast collar and sail. 300 bucks, cash and carry. I have a red and yellow one, both from the mid 80's. I'm keeping the red one. She's at City Island if anyone wants her. RB 35s5 NY |

RB 35s5 NY Thanks, but I'd really need a trailer for it, since I'd be dry sailing it. What I'm really hoping to find is a restorable wooden FD like I had when I was a teenager. I just missed one a few months back. You can't get one on those on a 757? hehee LP |

I'll help you put it on the roof of your car. I bet you will.... a Lightning weighs 700 pounds Mys Terry wrote: Thanks, but I'd really need a trailer for it, since I'd be dry sailing it. Sad boats left in the weeds of a side yard, would need total restoration. Hey Bobsprit, if you're not lying about the Lightnings, you can give us the hull #s, right? DSK |

An old boat will probably tip the scales at 730 or more. Hey Bobsprit, if you're not lying about the Lightnings, you can give us the hull #s, right? And manufacturer? Max |

Sure. Mine weighed 715 when I bought it, 702 after working it over (I wanted to allow for some scale error because I promised her she'd never ever have to wear lead bricks). But you know Bubble's Lightning would be class-certified at the razor's edge of minimum weight. Hey Bobsprit, if you're not lying about the Lightnings, you can give us the hull #s, right? And manufacturer? That's a little harder to find. Ask him about corrector weights, too. But you can't possible miss the number, even an half-blind schlamozzle like Boobsie would see it *if* he'd ever so much as set foot in a Lightning. DSK |

Why doesn't your "client" have a picture of his boat? Surely he can afford a camera? Or doesn't he have any friends who might take a picture of his boat? DSK |
