Early sail planned
 

On Friday about 1-1/4 hours before sunrise, Venus is just to the east
of Jupiter in the west-southwest. A very thin crescent Moon, just 19
hours 54 minutes before New, is visible in binoculars 29 degrees to the
lower left of Venus and only two degrees up in the east-northeast. If
you spot this hairline crescent on Friday morning, then you've
accomplished the first and more difficult task in the rare sighting of
a pair of opposing lunar crescents on consecutive days. The second,
easier crescent can be spotted soon after sunset on Saturday evening.
