Katrina devestaded the barrier islands in the gulf.

The islands controlled major surges that protected places like
NewOrleans.

Re-routing of the Mississippi was a major mistake, the new barrier
island will be located around New Orleans. South Lousianna is suppose
to be a swamp! A buffer zone and cajun paradise.

The cresent island will be all thats left on the Big Easy.
