newbie looking for free sailing classes
hi
guys, Recently I have decided I am gonna try sailing. And because of my budget I have to look for free sailing classes. Do you guys know any body or company (or volentier group) giving free sailing classes. the local sailing community charging too much like over $200 for 2 weeks training. Which I can't effort. I know it is almost impossible to find something like this specially now, but I really can't effort at the moment, since I am an unemployed person who is in schooll.. anyway if you guys know any volentier please let me know I live in milwaukee, wisconsin thanks Cemal |

A spell checker doesn't know what you intend to say--only that the word you typed is spelled correctly or incorrectly. IF you type "head" instead of "hear", the spell checker will pass it as correct. Please avoid the resident Jerks here. They can't stop being dumb long
enough to make toast. Check your area for yacht clubs and marinas. Visit them and make friends if possible. Just meeting a few folks working on a boat can lead to time aboard. You can also post on some sailing groups and volunteer to be crew, but be sure to explain that you're a novice. Quite a few sailors out there go it alone and might welcome the company. You can also volunteer some work (painting, sanding and so on) in exchange for a few sails. I got back into sailing because I met someone who had a J30 and was invited out many times. A few months later I had my first boat. I'm sure to always invite people out. Sailing is also about being generous as it can be best observed through the eyes of a new sailor. Folks here have long forgotten such things, opting to guard their tired old boats like a treasure chest filled with pennies and belly button lint. Now, 11 years later I have the nicest boat in this group and sail more than anyone! Keep a positive attitude and it will take you far...on the land and on the sea. Good luck, RB 35s5 NY |
