Yesterdays Sail drive
When returning to the apartment we stopped at a roadside restaurant
for lunch. After finishing ourr meal, we left the restaurant and resumed our trip. When leaving, I unknowingly left my glasses on the table and I didn't miss them until we had been driving about twenty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, we had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around the Tribeca since we were towing the 35s5 on the yard trailer-- in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve my glasses. All the way back, Robert became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained and scolded me relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more Robert chided me -- the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up one minute. To my relief, we finally arrived at the restaurant. As I got out of the tribeca and hurried inside to retrieve my glasses, the old geezer Robert yelled to me, "While you're in there, you might as well get my camera , and the credit card." Two things stand out that BS would never do:
1. Write in passive voice 2. Use so many descriptive adverbs (-ly endings) You need to take a creative writing course, Joe. |
