Sea Disaster
 

Does anyone know of a sea disaster where a ship caught fire and a
single lifeboat was launched. Half of the people in the lifeboat did
not survive, but when the boat pulled into harbor the first thing
spotted was the ship, whose crew had managed to control the fire and
sail home.

I've heard this story a few times. Fact or fiction?

Never heard of it but it's a better plot than "Poseidon Adventure"
or it's soon-to-be released remake....

I've heard of it too. It was a private sailboat powered by an Atomic 4.
Happened around a place called Cuban Ledge in NY.
