Why would you post that here? Everyone has a boat and many have
access to tall ships where they can crew for free or get paid. Why
would anyone want to pay to crew your boat???

He must mean pay not cost, Katy.

That is what he is paying each expert sailor per day to help keep
his boat off the rocks.

's what the Brits are paying per diem to sail their ships!

This is a silly place to adverstise for paying customers.
They should advertise at Colleges and high schools to
try to pick up some kids willing to pay to be treated
like a swab, who haven't been able to find a real job.

It is not easy running a Tallship. The expenses are great
and the crew sizes are large. The offer no pay and expect
people to "pay" for a few summer thrills. About the only
thing they really offer is 500 ton sea time for compensation.
This is something a crew can build up rather quickly, although
it would be better to get a job on a tugboat.

If you don't know anything and want to learn, you are at
least in a semi-military environment. A good place for
sheepeople who haven't learned to fend for themselves.

There is no privacy on board for coed crews. If people
do pair up, they have to find some place else, on shore, to be
romantic. Most ships forbiden crew fraternization, with good
reason. One girl dating a friend of mine who was first mate on
a schooner, quit the boat when he fell in love with another
girl. Manpower intensive ships don't like to lose crew due
to reasons like these.

Smart crew move on quickly due to the economics. Some
fall in love with it and live in poverty to years until they get
some sense. The only people who have it good are the
skippers.
