Oops. I'm sorry, I was thinking of your new digs. Forgot you left your boat down there. Scotty "katy" wrote in message ... Scotty wrote: Katy, how far must you motor to get to good sailing? Scotty The way the winds prevail, not far at all....a couple miles...you can set your sails and run out one way or run back in the other on a beam reach...there is a bottle neck that comes up right after you hit Doug's marina but after that the river opens up to the Sound...Doug would be able to give you the actual miles...if we were shallower draft, we'd have more room to sail but have to watch the depth gauge so we don't go aground.... The Hames River is REALLY shallow, so you have to take the channel out to the Elizabeth and then out to the Bay....it's really not all that far but there are a lot of things to worry about along the way..like all the terminals and bases.... |
