Well, my roaming of the world has ended.
Flew in from that sewer called Los Angeles this morning....now I've
just got to stay awake till this evening to kill any chance of the
dreaded jet lag.

Had a great time skiing some of the worlds great resorts and got in a
fair bit of sailing in San Diego and out of Long Beach....is that
winter you're having....?

Have some interesting tales and thousands of pics to show and tell,
but one of the best is the one about the repossessed Bavaria 38 with
less than 1000 sea miles and under 150 engine hours which I purchased
for well under $US 100k...

Glad you missed the rain! It was warm and sunny the last week or so, then
freezing temps for the last couple of night. My friend near Auckland says
it's in the high 80s/low 90s... sounds nice.

Yeah, Sorry Jon.
We just got too involved with unexpected friends who were there at the
time.
Tahoe was really good.
Locals were apologising for the quantity of snow, but we had no
problems with it.
Skied Heavenly, Sierra, Squaw, Homewood and Kirkwood.
Sierra was probably my pick for a good all round mountain though after
snow, the bowls at Killibrew and Mott Canyons was awesome. Steep and
deep through the trees was way too good fun...bought myself a new
helmet and some K2 mid fat skis just for them.
Got out of there a couple of weeks back, just when it started raining.

Yep, we did.
It was just plain lucky.
Was in Long Beach yesterday and it was starting to get chilly so I'd
expect it'll cool off the next few days.
Still, SD was warm and sunny all last week...great stuff!

Ah Del Mar.. I used to live at 2312 Ocean Front... near the house with the
dome if you saw it. That was a nice place... 6 bedrooms, 2 kitchens,
indoor/outdoor shower, glassed in patio... right on the beach. My friend
used to park his Hobie practically on the back doorstep.

Yep... know the area for sure. At one point, I also had a place on Crest
Drive, which was at the top of the Del Mar hills. If you stood on the roof,
you could watch the horses run at the track. :-)

Wow.. haven't been to the Poseidon in about 100 years.

There used to be a place for Mex food, I think it was in Solano Beach east
of the tracks that was top of the list. Then, one eve we were enjoying some
margaritas when I good size rat came out from behind a picture above the
table next to us, and that pretty much was the end of that restaurant...
they always waivered between B and C rating, and that pushed them over the
line for good. :-)

OK, I know where you were.
We were up on the hill in Via Latina, the continuation of Aprila that
runs beside Robertos....best mexican food in the US.
We were right high on the hill with a view over the slew? ? lagoon to
the beach and Tory Pines reserve.
Had brunch at Poseidon a couple of mornings ...
