State of water shows a reasonable breeze and the spinnaker is full, yet
the ponderous Nordica 30 is barely moving! There's barely a bow
wave!!!! She's doing 2-3 knots at best, where my boat would be close to
hull speed.
Why do people buy such turtles? Because they're afraid of those few
ultra windy days where it might actually be a serious challenge to
handle a fast boat like a 35s5, J35 or even a good cruiser like a Sabre
35.

Nonsense. The water state shows wind and the drive is clear with the
cloud cover on the left side of the frame. There's enough pull to show
some wake, so it's not dead air, probably just a dull moment. The aint
moving because it's slow, slow, slow with a PHRF rating slower than a
Catalina 30 withOUT the tall mast option!

Correct of course and since it was the first launch of a new chute... new
equipment and Murphy's Law being in effect.... I wisely selected a light air
day and deployed an inflatable tender with crew to take photos. Some
adjustments were required but all in all a favourable situation resulted.

Unlike Boobsie, who waits until there's *no* air, hoists it while tied to
the dock, and produces one shaky photo, blurred due to him quivering in fear
of a possible rustle of the fabric should a passing seagull time its next
fart appropriately.

It's telling that the *only* picture that Capt "Photo Boy" Rob has *ever*
posted of his spinnaker is the aforementioned embarrassment. That he
recently bragged about this photo is even *more* telling!
