Anybody else notice what bobs priorities are in a boat?
'fit and finish', swim platform', interior room', etc...

Sounds like a girl, doesn't he?

Scotty, sails a manly boat

Nice try, Scotty! Its been a while since you sent out an original
troll.
Sadly for you most of my posts about the 35s5 have been about it's
proven performance. In fact nearly 1/3 of the 35s5's race record shows
wins or very good finishes....that's better than J35 or C&C 99. Fit and
finish were JUST as important along with comfort and features. We
compromised very little, as it should be with each stepping stone to
the ultimate boat!

35s5...closer to the ultimate boat!

fast you bit on this one.

I didn't compromise at all. I have my ultimate boat.
I feel sorry for you.

When a lifetime of expectations and hopes are dashed against the jagged
cliffs of failure and rejection...a Siedlemann may indeed be the
"ultimate boat."
I'm glad you've come to terms with that at last.

Porsche used to advertise the same thing back in the '60s. SCCA not only placed
Porsche in "E" production class but allowed aftermarket exhaust manifolds and
bigger cabriolet engines in light speedsters. MGBs and Healeys were in "D" and
MGAs in "F" eliminating competition.

Or if you are a camera buff you might know that most contest winning 35mm shots
were taken with Nikons. Because they are best? No, because of Nikon
Professional Service - if you were a working pro Nikon would loan you any gear
you needed to get that prize winning shot for free. Hence most pro's used
Nikon.

Need I mention that Harleys won every race in the Sportster-Only class or that
BMW always wins the Battle of the Legends or ....

What I can't figure is why anybody would race a sail boat bigger than about 12
feet. Anybody with any sense would start the motor, or get a bigger motor, if
they wanna go faster.

An old story that no longer applies. Canon does the same thing now for
more than 20 years and Nikon continues to win more awards. Still it's
not for better glass. Nikon's elitist marketing is geared towards
artiists. Canon targets working pro's like sports shooters. Many Nikon
users move to Canon, a much larger company with better and faster
service turnarounds. I've used both and there's little difference.
Nikon and Canon optics are both fantastic. Nikon cameras have generally
superior ergonomics. You really can't go wrong with either system. But
I prefer Nikon for the better handling.

I tend to like Nikons also. Currently have the Coolpix 5000, but I think
we'll be getting something different in the next 6 mos. I like the
articulating arm, but I don't like the finger placement on the grip.
