How to choose a good boat

1) Never buy a Sieldemann, Oday, Mac or Coronado

2) Avoid boats like the Nordica 30 with interiors that are poorly done.

3) Avoid dated dinosaurs like Express 30's with ghastly interiors.

4) Find a boat with an aft cabin, especially if you have kids!

5) Find a fast boat, even if you don't plan to race. Fast = fun!

6) avoid 30-37 foot boats with PHRF above 150 or so. That's just SLOW
dull sailing.

7) Buy a sailboat, not a trawler

8) Get a swim platform...safety and fun combined!

9) Avoid boats with leaky pop out ports like Express 30 and some C&Cs.

10) Find a boat with sleeping arangements not only suited to munchkins!

11) Find a boat with a head for people with legs!

12) Find a boat with a good combo of draft and performance!

13) Avoid sluggish sloppy cable based steering systems!

Boats that accomplish this for under 100K???? C&C 34+ XL CB and the
Beneteau First 35s5.

Cheers!

Actually, I'm using mostly the same words! I just blasted poor Mooron,
Scotty and Bob Crantz is the 35s5 troll by simply pasting in old
posts!!! Poor Mooron said I struck the bait and never knew what hit
him!!! And I've got poor Sloco singing songs about Scotty's Siedlemann
30!!!!

It's easy to understand Sloco being jealous of your Seidelmann. He's
probably
jealous of your 64 Dodge Dart, too. Completely understandable.

Think about it...poor Sloco thinks Siedlemann is a good boat!!!! Can
you imagine? He's said so!

Ohhhhh Rob,

The 60's era Dodge Darts kicked ass. I would much rather have any Dart
than the Vagina looking Tribeca you were suckered into buying.

And Muffin, the Dodge Dart GTS with the 426 HEMI is worth 3 time what
our tribeca is worth, and it's value keeps going up, as the value of
the Tribeca plundges. Good lord I wish you would buy a clue.

Loco is not jelious of my boat. His boat is nicer, and faster
than mine.

I had a 63 Plymouth Valiant. Not a hot version like described above,
just a slant six with three on the column. But in retrospect that
might have been one of the best cars I've owned. Simple, functional,
reliable and great value. Wish I had it back.

I'm at the barber shop waiting for a hair cut and reading the mags.
Picked up one, not sure what it was, but probably Car and Driver. Did
a review on that b9 tribeca thing. review team expressed difficulty
in getting to the good points of the vehicle because they had to
overcome the fact that it was "butt ugly". Can't say that I disagree.

The nose of the B9 was designed by the guy from Alpha Romeo and Car and
Driver said "Some people are critical of the Tribeca's front end, but
we think it looks just fine." The review is glowing and this was before
the B9 scored the best handling and crash ratings for any crossover SUV
ever. Motortrend dod not like the front end, but loved the car. It
compliments the STI perfectly!
