Ah, memories....

I remember when Scotty was a good friend...all warm and fuzzy feelings
because he felt I was a kindred spirit buying an old Catalina 30.
Of course I wasn't and I bought a FAR better C&C 32. Bam!!!

Scotty MAD!!! Scotty no like Bobspirt no more! He play mean joke on
Scottee! Make Scottee feel even worse about Seedelman thirtee!

Maybe this is why no one truly believes he's happy with his boat. Then
again...who would be?

What about the trip to the Thimbles or Port Jeff or Shark River in NJ?
Block Island is no big deal...went on the Tayana 48DS. Just another
half day.

We went, just on someone elses boat. It was a dull sail and outside of
having more hours to do it in the C&C, I don't see what the difference
is. No....when we sail to Martha's Vineyard....that will be
interesting! But not because of the sail itself. We're also hoping to
go to Great Gull Island...which you can never visit.

Do any of you EVER sail?

While many of the folks here talk a good game, few do much more than
get out every other weekend and that's at best. During the spring and
summer months we sail 3-4 times a week, and more when we can arrange
long weekends. With my wife's new flexible schedule we're hoping to get
even more sailing in this summer. But even when conditions are hot and
windless we still will spend time aboard. We have air conditioing!
In spite of crap spewed here by others, some of whom don't even own
sailboats, we have sailed more than most and posted pics of our
daysails and weekend trips. Curiously the others have not.
You decide who's sailing and who isn't.

People who DON'T Sail
Mooron: He never even splashed his boat last season and rarely sails it
anyway.
Doug: Doug has no sailboat of any kind. He owns a trawler.
Joe: Joe owns a big steel motorsailor. It looks like it could sail, but
it's little more than a houseboat for him.
Scotty: Scotty manages to post all summer long. You won't see much of
me come spring. Can he really be sailing much?
Bob Crantz: Has no sailboat of any kind.

Well, some of us sail just about all year long! And, I believe you post way
more than anyone else, so I don't see how that could be an indication of how
much someone sails or claims to. :-)

You'd best check your sources Bobsprit...... no posts this summer and maybe
a half dozen the previous summer.... You on the other hand only drop from
200 posts a week in the off season to one hundred posts a week in the
summer.

Mooron, your boat wasn't IN THE WATER last summer. Who knows the real
reasons why. Based on the website, I bet you're redoing the whole
shoddy boat. Posts or no posts, you didn't sail.

This is true for me. Other activities interfere. I also enjoy trips on one of
my motorcycles and have crossed the country on one a dozen times. Or sometimes
we take the jeep or motorhome. A weekend on the Blue Ridge Pkwy is a nice
alternative to sailing every Saturday. Go on a starlight night, turn off your
lights and it's like star trek. Or, in my dotage, I may just enjoy my own yard.
Our 2 acres adjoin 100s of acres of woods. Foxes, chucks, even a bear .... yes
snake too. Makes it hard to get the boat out more ......

Gawd, I would too if I had to live in/near NYC! If I had to drive to Boston I'd
go via Minneapolis and Canada just to avoid getting near the place. Why not
look around yourself?? I looked up New Bern NC awhile back on realtor.com and
saw some nice homes for well under $100K - some under 50k. Doug could prolly
tell you what to watch (out) for - then you could sail even more often.

Bobby would not like New Bern...much too plebian for his tastes.
