Ah, maybe you'll become a bit of a racer after all - got a link for that?
It's always nice to see a brightly coloured spinnaker ballooning out in
front of a boat as it barrels downwind.

He raised it in his slip....

It's better for people who are grossly short and don't need 7 foot long
berths. We prefer a comfortable place to sleep and a nice cabin just
for our son!

Oddly enough that mimics what most people claim when shopping for a power
boat.

You keep singing that song, but as most people pointed out the 35s5 is
distinctive looking, more so than your boat which was also bought off
the rack. The only difference is my rack was smart enough to build
boats that were good enough to last and stay in business!

The only "definitive" thing about the 35s5... is that it resembles a Hunter

I was thinking that I wanted a boat that looked nicer than yours, with
more room than yours, with more speed than yours, with higher value
than yours, with better fit and finish than yours and that's what we
bought.

Well Bobsprit... if that was your goal... you failed dismally. You bought an
off the rack, cheaply built, coastal sailor that looks like every other
chlorox bottle at your dock. The only redeeming factors are it's spray and
wipe interior.

I'm done with tired old boats that can't get out of their own
way with rotting interiors, Mooron. That's what you own, and by your
own admission! Meanwhile 35s5's just won several big races in the last
few months and two have circumnavigated that I know of. I can't find a
Nordica that has done anything more than get a full restoration!

Now Bobsprit...... you know that Teak doesn't rot. Unlike the plastic shelf
liner your boat has for interior decor..... wood can be worked... while your
printed plastic will fade and eventually peel. Keep in mind that Nordicas
are worth restoring.... while your boat in as many years won't be worth a
plugged nickel.
While my Nordica has won races..... your boat hasn't. While my boat handles
ocean states easily... your boat becomes stressed, pounds and sails wet. It
screams "Cheap" while at the dock and can't be safely sailed in any waves
over 3 feet due to twisting and flexing of the hull.

No, it mimics modern design for sailboats, most of which have swim
platforms and aft cabins even with less LOA!!! Busted!!!!

That's quite an eye you have there. Most people comment on the French
aspects of the design, even Bob Perry. But then I'm amazed when lubbers
think a Pearson 36 looks like a Pearson 35. Since you bought a vessel
with admittedly bad workmanship, it's no wonder that you can't see the
difference. Oh, and plenty of folks here commented favorably on her
looks. Busssted!

How did I fail? My boat IS faster than yours. Built to a much higher
standard than yours by a wide margin...and far more expensive in every
way! BUSTED!

Now Bobsprit...... you know that Teak doesn't rot. Unlike the

Anything can be worked, replaced, restored and so on. But I don't want
to miss a whole summer of sailing doing it as YOU DID!!! Busted!!!

It

You do know that the 35s5 uses solid glass re-enforced with a grid to
create a very rigid structure. No flexing reported ever, no blisters
and no full full restorations required, as on your boat!!! Uber Busted!

I just got my 35s5, dopey! But a 35s5 just won the Quadrasolo and
Atlantic The Telegram Cup. Real races, Mooron, in open ocean. I can't
even find a Nordica 30 that circumnavigated, but two 35s5's did!!!
Oh...ULTRA BUSTED!!!!

Heh.. there's a good name for your boat Bobsprit... "Mimic".. named after a
movie, describes the design of your look-alike plastic condo and denotes
your sailing abilities!!

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!

Wooooooo.... let's take a reality check shall we Bobsprit?

You've never lived aboard any of your vessels.
I've lived aboard my Nordica for 9 years

You've never left the Bay and the max trip was a grueling 3 days... most of
it lost.
I've been on a 2 month excursion with no engine, no facilities to restock
and out of radio contact....

Your 35s5 looks like a Hunter... and let's face it.. your boat is flimsy
plastic.
My Nordica looks like a real sailboat.... and let's face it... it's a much
better boat.

How did I fail? My boat IS faster than yours. Built to a much higher
standard than yours by a wide margin...and far more expensive in every

No Bobsprit... your boat is supposed to be faster than mine... but we all
know that's not the case. If you consider a thin hull, hollow bulkheads and
peel'n'stick interior as a higher standard... Bwahahahahahahahaa... more
expensive makes sense and proves you were rooked for the extra five feet in
swim platform!

Anything can be worked, replaced, restored and so on. But I don't want
to miss a whole summer of sailing doing it as YOU DID!!! Busted!!!

I missed the season because of work... you know .. what your wife does!

You do know that the 35s5 uses solid glass re-enforced with a grid to

Yeah.. shure Bobsprit... now you're claiming your boat is stronger built
than mine because they skimped on material & quality to keep the weight down
so the pig would actually have a chance to perform within 50% of it's rated
potential!

Did you ever consider that 35s5s aren't worth the effort of restorations?

I just got my 35s5, dopey! But a 35s5 just won the Quadrasolo and

Well... we Nordica 30 owners are a modest and humble people. It's a cruising
boat after all and we wouldn't want to embarrass the "Plastique" crowd. Now,
from what I've seen posted... your 35s5 is supposed to be fast ... but gets
beaten by much smaller vessels on a regular basis.... Tsk Tsk Tsk.

35s5... if you want to blend in with the crowd, are comfortable with plastic
and don't intend to sail far from a Sea Tow location.... Ha Ha Ha ha ha!!!

Actually it's one of those 35s5 Mackerals... they look like they weigh ten
pounds... but they're hollow and only weigh 2lbs. I wouldn't want to hurt
Bobsprit.... after all.. I like him.... he's Funny!

Anyway he's busy pulling all the Peel'n'Stik scales out of his ears right
now.

Heh.. there's a good name for your boat Bobsprit... "Mimic"..

And at the time your tub was loosely pasted together it was a mimic of
designs of the day. In fact MANY more boats have your layout! BUSTED
again...

You've never lived aboard any of your vessels.
I've lived aboard my Nordica for 9 years

You have my sympathy. That's very depressing. Luckily we can afford two
homes and our nice boat.

My Nordica looks like a real sailboat.... and let's face it... it's
a much
better boat.

Chanting this again and again, when all evidence (and the cost of a
used Nordica) says otherwise is not aiding your case.

your boat is supposed to be faster than mine... but we all

Who's "we all?" Your boat must be faster than Donal's or Sloco's too!!!
Bwahahahahhahaha!

If you consider a thin hull, hollow bulkheads and
peel'n'stick interior as a higher standard...

When it's stronger, better assembled and lasts longer...yes, that's
called a higher standard. This is why my boat is worth 3 times what
yours is worth!

Did you ever consider that 35s5s aren't worth the effort of
restorations?

We never heard of one requiring a restoration. Most even survived
charter well and are out there racing and circumnavigating...unlike the
soon to be restored (again) Nordica's.

I missed the season because of work... you know .. what your wife
does!

My wife does not fix boat interiors. Do you need some tips?

Well... we Nordica 30 owners are a modest and humble people.

Yup, just like the Siedlemann, O'day and Coronado owners.

are comfortable with plastic
and don't intend to sail far from a Sea Tow location.... Ha Ha Ha ha
ha!!!

Any Nordica's involved in sea rescues? The 35s5 was!

Truth be told there is virtually no mention of a Nordica 30 winning
anything, going anywhere...just pages of repair tips for them!
