Annual Lurker Check-in 2006

Thanks to Bob Crantz for reminding me.

LURKER Check-In !!!

For those of you lurking out there. This is the
annual Lurker Check-in.

Lurkers are those that read posts but do not post
responses or start threads.

You don't have to post anything intelligent, just
your handle and location, include boat name,
type and model, if you have one.

This is your big chance to get easy points.

If you don't check in, nothing bad will happen to you,
you will just remain POINTLESS!

1 point award per fact you provide.

Those of you that have posted and do not have any
points at all, or you are not sure if you have any points,
you can check in now for free alt.sailing.asa newgroups
points.

I'll start by awarding Michael May 20 points for
his recent introduction.

remember the old Putzsail days well. I even made it to Putz status "back in

down my sailing school and delivery business due to other business
commitments. Still sailing the RL24 when the time allows. Sold the RL28 some
time ago.

Facts... go read this. http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/uselessfacts/ the
site has 2945 facts. So I get a 2945 points. Right?

Oh btw, what can I do with the points -get free airfare to Pitcairn Island

are currently living on our boat and cruising the Mexican Riviera for

True.

4. Marinas in the Newport News area suck.

It may simply be that your standards are too high. I know of
a couple that aren't bad, but they're more expensive and
they're in closer proximity to Navy & commercial shipyards
than you'd probably like.

Shh-sh-hh! Don't tell everybody or they'll all want to come
here.

Personally, I'd award 2 points for raising such a good &
smart dog, but I'm not the one in charge.

OK, off with the wraps for now.

Post rarely but catch up once a week or so. Started lurking in 1998 when

Things havent been the same since Boobspittle has flexed his way in,

Columbus, Oh
Mac 26S a superb boat, as bobsprit would say.
Actually it works quite well on the smaller inland lakes.

Pretty Lame there. Worth 3 points. More detail needed.
What is the name of the boat. Why do you think it is a
superb boat? Are you on drugs?

Actually the Mac 26 _S_ was a pretty good boat. You're
probably think of the _X_ model PowR-Sail-R.

I liked the daggerboard model better, but the main flaw of
the centerboard version was that the pennant was cleated
down inside the cabin, and the hatches were too flimsy to
step on. Plus they're a little on the tender side, but
they're sure not the only boat with that minor flaw.
Besides, some folks think heeling 'way over is fun.

Nope. IMHO they're not worth the stowage space, unless you
do make a lot of open water passages and then paravanes may
well be more effective.
