I'll try and visit a bit more. Thank you for the kind compliment. Are you
now way inland in the big state?

Gilligan here.

I occasionally lurk.

I sail an old rowboat with tarp sails. The nearest large body of water
is 1200 miles away.

Thanks to Bob Crantz for reminding me.

LURKER Check-In !!!

For those of you lurking out there. This is the
annual Lurker Check-in.

Lurkers are those that read posts but do not post
responses or start threads.

You don't have to post anything intelligent, just
your handle and location, include boat name,
type and model, if you have one.

This is your big chance to get easy points.

If you don't check in, nothing bad will happen to you,
you will just remain POINTLESS!

1 point award per fact you provide.

Those of you that have posted and do not have any
points at all, or you are not sure if you have any points,
you can check in now for free alt.sailing.asa newgroups
points.

I'll start by awarding Michael May 20 points for
his recent introduction.

You have to post some information if you want points
otherwise you are pointless!

Not many fact. Worth 7 points though.

Hope you stick around.

You can trade your points in for magazine subscriptions.

OK Ok.. I will be first.

DP (old name = d parker) here... too much to do these days and haven't got
time to play here usually. Hi to all the older members of the group. I
remember the old Putzsail days well. I even made it to Putz status "back
in the day". I sail all sorts of boats. But not enough lately. I have
wound down my sailing school and delivery business due to other business
commitments. Still sailing the RL24 when the time allows. Sold the RL28
some time ago.

Oh btw, what can I do with the points -get free airfare to Pitcairn Island
or something?

Pretty Lame there. Worth 3 points. More detail needed.
What is the name of the boat. Why do you think it is a
superb boat? Are you on drugs?

Columbus, Oh
Mac 26S a superb boat, as bobsprit would say.
Actually it works quite well on the smaller inland lakes.

14 points. Post more. We want some good stories.

Hi Dave and Group, Ladysailor and I (used to use mfulmor as a handle)
are currently living on our boat and cruising the Mexican Riviera for
the third season. We head north to Oregon in the summer (hurricane)
months and leave the boat down here. Two days ago Ladysailor finally
agreed to sail across the Pacific so next year perhaps weŽll be in
your neighborhood. IŽd like to go this year but my daughter is
getting married in June, right when weŽd be leaving, and there are
still a couple of tweaks IŽd like to do to the boat before getting too
far away from home.
We still lurk a bit when we have wifi on the boat, but not too much.
Fair Winds,
Mike

I counted 20 points.

How about a picture of the boat. I haven't seen a
Banshee in 11 years!

Mark checking in.
I'm a disabled Marine from the VietNam era (C Co., 1st Recon Bn.) and
I sail a 13' Banshee on local lakes in NE Kansas.
I'm taking care of my Dad at present so sailing has suffered.
My wife and I are taking care of my youngest daughter's son as well.
(Wife is our grandson's legal guardian.)

My future plans are to get a small sailboat (27' to 32') and go
cruising when my Dad doesn't need me any longer. I've been looking at
the PS Orion 27' lately. )

OK
1. I own a Kirie Elite (also known as a Feelings 920)
2. She is moored in the Pamlico SOund area.
3. I've been on Doug's trawler and it is a great boat and it even
has a mast!
4. Marinas in the Newport News area suck.
5. I like fishing off the back of the boat.
6. I'm gonna get a crab pot all my own.
7. Weather down here is sure a lot better than in Michigan!
8. Chopper liked living aboard.

How many more facts do you want?

True.

4. Marinas in the Newport News area suck.

It may simply be that your standards are too high. I know of
a couple that aren't bad, but they're more expensive and
they're in closer proximity to Navy & commercial shipyards
than you'd probably like.

Shh-sh-hh! Don't tell everybody or they'll all want to come
here.

8. Chopper liked living aboard.

Personally, I'd award 2 points for raising such a good &
smart dog, but I'm not the one in charge.

How many more facts do you want?

How many have you got?
