In search of the martec
I had seen the prop shaft on which the Martec was originally mounted
poking out from under some jumper cables in the back of my truck so thought "No problem, I had taped all the parts together sometime two yrs ago before I threw it in there". Wrong, two yrs in my truck and the duct tape had gone away. So, I climbed into the camper shell pulling out jumper cables, two 5 gal diesel cans for the boat, 3 large distilled water containers to be recycled. "AHA, there it is", wrong, it was just one blade. More searching through various bins. What are these dremel tool parts doing here? I didnt know I had these canoe paddles. I've been looking for those two 6" C clamps. My wife walks up says "Thank God you're cleaning out your truck". Giving here my "What the hell are you talking about" look I say "What gives you that idea" and go back to my search. My wife who is really a yankee but fancies herself as a country girl likes driving my truck which is unacceptable to me. Consequently, I never fixed the AC and refuse to buy a new truck even though it has 300,000 miles on it and my employees find it to be amusing. Eventually the body and second blade show up but I realize I am still missing the part that the shaft screws into so more searching. I find, a new set of sockets for a socket wrench, a package of firecrackers (huh?), some cool poloroid filters (cant remember why i bought them), the hard drive from my poor old lobotomized laptop (I just might need those files), a vial of 10 gms of Ruthenium metal (dont ask), some parts for the MiniCup sailboats and FINALLY the missing piece. I put everything back in the truck and try to assemble the prop but DAMN, no axle that the blades pivot on. The axle must be in one of my tool boxes (task for tonight). Meanwhile Rob, e-mail me if you want the prop shaft (it is SS). |
