Jacobs Ladder
 

They make much more sence than wasting space on a swim platform.
Any sailor should be able to make a custom jacobs ladder for his own
vessel with some wood scraps and a little nylon rope. Swim platforms
are for pansies, Jacob ladders are for real sailors.
