When some puppetoon like Doug or Jeff start acting like they know
something about anything, it never fails to impress me how ignorant
people like them can be. Doug's list of idiotic comments is endless and
recently he's posed as an expert in George Pal and his movies!
The thing that really comes to light is the bitterness of many of the
people here. It's strange that most of these bitter folks own VERY old
and tired or just plain crappy sailboats.....Express 30, S2 8.5,
Coronado 27, Siedlemann 30, Nordica 30, Catalina 28....it's like a
who's who of junkyard boats. And then there's poor Doug, who ends up
with a powerboat in the end.
If these folks were happy with their boats, they might be as happy as I
am. They might not be so bitter, so angry with a spector of internet
personality called Bobsprit who teases them endlessly for his own
amusement. They've tried everything over the years and yet nothing
seems to touch him. Of course the obvious truth of it, as with any
troll, is that he laughs at their frustration.
And now....the NIGHTMARE has occured. Just as he promised, Bobsprit
buys a boat far nicer than theirs, laying the last brick of the torture
chamber he's trapped them in. It's The Pit and Bob's Pendulum and there
is no escape! It's going to get worse this summer of course!
And so, in 2006 Bobsprit still owns and controls this group. He steers
the threads and the few threads that don't originate from him are about
him. He is not only the lifeblood of the group, he's also the driving
force behind it's sailing content using both real and false posts. In
the end, even his greatest detractors can't argue the power he has
here.

Now, as with any supernatural force....I refer to myself in the 3rd
person.

Ladies and Gentlemen and Sloco and Doug, I give you 2006. Happy New
Year and the best for the new sailing season. You may now return to
normal activities.

Rob simply lacks the capacity to understand that other people do other
things for other reasons. He cannot understand that he MIGHT have a
boat that is good for his needs but it would poorly serve other people.
His ego is too fragile to accept that his boat is so poorly suited to
others that if it was given to us we'd have to sell it.
