Doug's List???? This is why the 35s5 is best!

34-36 foot boat built after 1988
PHRF below 140 (aprox)-quick boat)
AFT CABIN
SWIM PLATFORM
Draft under 6 feet
Cost under 75K

A boat with the above features is common today. Hell, most 35 footers
have aft cabins and plenty have swim platforms. Just buy a new C&C 99
for example. 135K for your troubles. But 15 years ago the US and much
of the Canadian market was still making 70's interiors like Sloco's.
The best Doug has been able to do is list boats that have half of the
above features. He also listed boats bigger than specified, most with
no aft cabins or swim platforms and so on.
He struck out.
So here's an open call. Match the 35s5's features listed above, only
six of them....if you can. Don't embarrass yourself by claiming you can
"add a swim platform."
Either match the 35s5's VERY simple features above or shut up!

My matches? The C&C 34XL Centerboard. VERY rare and usually a LOT more
than 75K. So that doesn't count. Catalina 34? Too slow. Hunter 37? Too
big. Keep trying!

What about the Elliott 12.5 metre fast cruiser? It has more headroom, swim
platform and kicks butt!

OK Boob, you have the only boat in history that incorporates THOSE six
features. Of course your missing plenty of important ones but so what.
You have those six. Now go away.

Nutsy,

Your aft cabin is nothing more than a Quarter Berth with a door that
will not open even 1/2 way. The Quarter Berth on a Gulf 32 has more
room. The Gulf 29 & Gulf 27 both have quarter berths, in the Standard
layout which have at least the same sleeping room, plus they have a
bigger cockpit and better engine access (Which still leaves a lot to be
desired)

Your design winning lay-out sure as hell didn't have the same WINDOW
(port) treatment.

Nutsy, Your Bendy is a nice boat but the more you talk about it, the
more you will be told about it's short coming,

Shut the Hell up. Get Thomas a small dog an enjoy your boat. Learn to
sail her and over look her bad points. I would remove those doors on the
Head and (?) aft cabin and replace them with Drapes. Don't put a Drink
Holder/table on your Helm. The cockpit is small enough as is. You really
have a 30 footer with an extended water line by the use of a cheap
swim platform. By the way, is a useless piece of **** as it is set-up.
Where are you going to store the ladder to let people get back on board?
Remember, swimmer will have to walk around that Big Wheel you've been
bragging about when they are wet.

A 7 foot quarter berth with room for two? The door opens full. I still
don't know why you need it to swing wider than the frame.

Nutsy, Your Bendy is a nice boat but the more you talk about it, the

We both know that's the whole point.

Nutsy, Your Bendy is a nice boat

Thanks.

Same length as a Catalina 34 cockpit.

Do you mean to say that my swim platform is 5.5 feet? Now you're just
being silly.

Where are you going to store the ladder to let people get back on
board?

The ladder is hidden inside the platform, Thom. It folds out neatly.

Remember, swimmer will have to walk around that Big Wheel you've
been
bragging about when they are wet.

Not a problem since the aft deck extends around the wheel for easy
movement...even when wet.
