Every warship has a couple. It just make shooting stars easier. If I remember correctly you just set the LHA of Aries on the equator and the star is a bearing and elevation. It helps with the lesser used navigation stars. They are very common (English ones) but kind of funky. The box one the ones I have used is mahogany, the moving parts are brass and the globe is kind of a pressed paper thing. Gary |
