My flu turned out to be a very aggressivle throat infection. I'm on
antibiotic injections and every time I try to drink water it's like
swallowing razor blades. I may require surgery because one of the
tonsils is badly infected...scary stuff for me. I've never had
any kind of surgery
So....I'm off the group for a few days.

Tonsillectomy is hardly surgery.... think of the ice cream after! :-)

It can be a brutal operation if they have to tear the things out. Does Bob
know if he's allergic to latex? He appears to have reddish hair, is
halothane the correct anesthesia? The anesthesiologist calculates by weight,
if Robbie is low on body fat (if he's not obese) the calculation may assume
too much body fat, I hope they watch the tidal volume trends carefully. I
just pray a catheter doesn't get sucked into a body cavity, it can be nasty
getting them back out. There's a lot to go wrong, especially with simple
operations. That's because they let the interns get a shot at it. Then the
chance of infection. It just goes on and on and on...

I'll pray for Robbie.
