Another Bad Day at Black Rock for Mooron....

This is from the Nordica 30 Project Page. Apparently most Nordica 30's
are projects!

lack of deck drains."

"Low point and water collection spot for any drainage in this area.
Water was trapped here and couldn't escape!"

"After making a couple of ragged saw cuts, I could see a lot of water
soaked plywood pcs. (opposite side of the engine area) coming loose.
Further checks revealed that atleast two-thirds of this entire panel
was totally softened from standing water, so it's all coming out and
a new one (with a removable access panel) will replace it. It's
difficult to see into this area, but worth checking out if you have any
openings to look thru."

"Wasted metal samples from the Nordica rudder - this fitting was above
the waterline. Lack of caulking and or entrapment of moisture within
the rudder could have caused this type of damage over time.
