While in Florida we rented a Pontiac G6, fully loaded. I've seen
hilarious interiors as cheap (Sloco's Lincoln being one, the Lincol Navigator being another), but the Pontiac is incredible. Switches didn't work, zero road feel, poor power band tranny mating and so on. Just another terrible American car. My father even had to finally give up (after Chrysler, Ford and Chevy's) and bought a Forester XT, which has been a revelation to him. The only thing more sad that the losers who build these American wrecks are the super-losers who buy them. US Built boats are pretty much the same. Why can't Catalina or Hunter compete with Beneteau's First series boats? Why did it take US builders 10 whole years to realize that people liked aft cabins and swim platforms? Why does the US always trail in bringing good ideas to mass markets? RB Beneteau First 35s5, Subaru WRX STI, Subaru Tribeca, MG-TF NY |

With the crew clumping about on top of you while you are trying to sleep. Half of them are athwartships????? How do you sleep on the bad tack (head down)? They might work on some boats but on most they suck. Give me a nice pilot berth and scrap the circluar table and whorehouse interior. Ever try to nap at a round table? |

I agree with you on the cars. Certainly not on the cheap French designed,
lightly built crappy boats. Big Hunk of a Sailor Man "Capt. Rob" wrote in message oups.com... While in Florida we rented a Pontiac G6, fully loaded. Had a loaner Lancer EVO 9 for 5 days last week.
Did plenty of miles thru some of Oz mountain roads and it murders the Sti for pure driving pleasure. Evo is a great car, more feedback if a tad slower than the WRX. Only problem is that they are a service disaster here. Mitsubishi is the only Japanese maker competing with GM for bad quality control. My best friend bought the EVO. I can't say much for legal reasons, but she is suing via the lemon law here. Great concept though. RB 35s5 NY |

we already know you know nothing about cars and you drive a
teeny bopper "car" Teeny boppers drive 4200 lb family SUVs? You heard it here first, folks! Yeah, you know cars! Too bad mine are all nicer than yours..and FASTER! But just to show how little moronic Sloco in his Slincoln LCS is... "Don't judge the EVO without driving the STi and vice-versa. The only way to really know which car you'll like better is to drive them both. Both are hugely capable cars. Both surpass most driver's capabilities before reaching their limits. They're not just fast. They're ridiculous. And on the right road, we'd match either of them against any other car on the planet. They're that good. " RB 35s5 NY |

Hmmm, interesting.
The EVo here is a tad faster than the Sti and definitely quicker point to point. Mitsu here has an excellent reputation afa service goes, and I know of no issues re quality control. Yeah, if you keep up on cars in different markets, Mitsubishi is rated pretty poorly for quality control and they're in trouble here. I'd love in EVO if I thought I could trust it, though the STI is generally thought of as the better daily driver. I read one review that said the feedback on the EVO made a Miata feel numb by comparison. The US can ruin anything. Just look at the Ford Focus. Well rated overseas...and the ones built here are horror shows for reliability. And being a Subura fan, the best built models are the small Outback Sports, because they are imported partially assembled. My Tribeca seems pretty nice though...ultra quiet interior and quality unmatched by any American make...note the pic of Jeff on my custom video system. http://members.aol.com/bobsprit/images/mvideo.jpg Just scored the best crash test rating in it's class ever. Sounds like the reviewer is
attempting to cover his ass. I haven't read any reviews that put that kiddie car in the league of the LS or 540. Could Sloco know anything about sports cars? Does he not know that cars like the Evo and STI are too fast for elderly folks like him? Almost twice as fast as his Lincoln, FAR better handling...pretty much twice the performance of his car. Meanwhile, my crossover SUV has twice the comfort and is still a better handling car. Does Sloco's Slincoln have AWD, stability control, traction control, 18" wheels, DVD 11 speaker audio/video theatre system....5 speed sportmatic tranny with manual mode? Face it, Sloco. Your car is dated, badly...just like your boat..and ancient Depress 30! Who even drives a 5 year old car anymore? Oh, right. We forgot you live in depressed Florida. RB 35s5...and NEW cars! NY |
