Something penned by Mooron made me wonder how one mounts nice anaroid
barometer, say a Belfort Instrument 6079, in a honeycomb bulkhead?

Cheers

First you have to enclose it in latex (unless you have an allergy to latex,
in that case use polyurethene)....

Aboard our 35s5, you can see them mounted close to the radio.

I'll remove them and replace with a better unit from Alien, though they
are nice enough.

BTW, I'd have that leak from the 'window' directly above the 'radio'
looked at .

Repaired. The only leak noted via the opening Lewmar.

Is that really a panel that slides over the nav gear?
Is there an intercom system from the cockpit to the nav station?

Yup, and yup.

Must be tough having a boat that sat around unraced and never given a
hard time taht still leaks.

That would include just about every production boat I've ever seen from
Island Packets to Pearsons and Swedens. The Lewmar needed a new gasket.
I guess it's a bad boat then. Good call!

Pity they didn't put the nav in a spot where direct communication
with
the cockpit is available without the use of more vulnerable
electronics.

The intercom is via a WHAM mic and the station is right next to the
companionway. The WHAM's intercom feature is not why it was bought.
Oops...you got slapped again!
Try harder...I know you can find something. I know....why not ask me
what I DON'T like about the boat. I promise to be honest!

Wow!! Thank gawd the wood isn't real or you'd have a satin there forever...
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa...

I prefer to minimize electronics on a vessel below 40 ft. Communications by
voice with an occasional empty beer can projectile to confirm attention...
is all that's really required.

I can see Bob & Suzanne being amused for hours cooing to each other over the
intercom at the dock. They'll be what... 6 feet apart??? With an
intercom???
I hope the volume controls are sufficient to compensate for the noise of the
AC unit droning on and on.

Oh right, so the 'windows' don't have anything to do with the quality
of production.

Like I said, Ozzy...windows leak on boats...even expensive ones. My P30
windows didn't leak, but that was a rare example. The new Tayana I sail
on even sprung a window leak from a bad gasket. Happens to Hunters and
Swans as well.

I know what youdon't like....

No you don't. I found some flaws in the boat, both in design and
execution...a few that are pretty silly.

The nut holding the wheel is too large.

And it's loose too! Also; my aft is too wide, my shaft too long and I'm
using the same lines over and over.
