35s5 More & More!

Robert, congratulations on the 35s5. We've had our for 8 years running
and the boat has been practically bullet proof. We sail her hard and
have had surfing at 15 knots. Upwind we are right there with the J105's
and other racers. I don't agree with John about downwind being tricky.
We're just about untouchable downwind, though I admit upwind is the
boat's forte, making 7 knots at 33 degrees with ease. That's slightly
better than the polars Karen sent, but remember that sails are much
better now and we spent a lot on ours!
As a cruiser, the boat has been great. We've logged thousands of miles,
fast and trouble free. The boat has some quirks to be sure. I wish
they'd made a dinette version as well. BTW, we have a tiller version
and come race night EVERYONE wants to crew our boat. We're rated 121
here with the wing and standard draft. Good luck with the boat and
website!
Jerome E.

LOL................. Who does this guy "race" with a bunch of Catalina
30s? If this thing was "untouchable" downwind you'd see more of them
on the race course. I've never seen one.

I think what Bubbles means is that nobody gets downwind of him.

Hey Loco, what do you think of the Frers F3? I've always really liked
that boat and there are a couple on the market now at decent prices.

There are no Express 30's around here either, at least not sailing.
There are less than 200 35s5's in the USA, perhaps fewer than than.
They were very highly priced and a bigger seller in Europe. More than
400 sold overall and the model was in production for 5 years. It was
the most expensive boat per foot built by Beneteau, even more expensive
that the Express 35!
