Your observation does have merit, Some merit. If you would search your
observation and reasoning, you would come to recognize that Nutsy's
bragging is really aim at certain individuals. I thought you instructed
him that way of Trolling during the groups "Virtual Cruise of the Pau?"

He is awful good at getting response from those he wants to respond.
Rather like yourself.

I, personally. think he does himself harm, as you do. He hasn't had to
resort to outsiders as you did however. I think Nutsy may have more
control of his trolling than you. My own opinion only, for what's its
worth.

It up to you to figure if this is a branch off of your Troll or a simple
reply.

Hey, Thom. I read a few times that the Gulf 29 is a better sailing boat
than the 32. Can you bring me up to speed on that? Is it because of the
32's weight and small sail area alone?
Someone was asking me about the 29 today.

No Nutsy;

The Gulf 32 is a full keeler. She is fairly HUGE for a 32. She has
loads of space but that is what makes her a Pig in light air.

The 29 Gulf, ah yes. She is a Gulf above the water line but below the
water line she is a "Newport 30" A real pretty hull and fast. She'll
sail circles around the 32. She does this at a sacrifice to space. My
bilge is about 9" deep at the sump. That is one of the reasons for bring
the Head back into the Pilothouse, which did away with the Quarter
Berth. I also removed a huge, beautiful double drop leaf table in favor
of a small swing up table. Removing that table and bulkhead increased
usable space in the PH and around the inside helm.

She is a pretty fast single hander and an acceptable week-ender. Before
I opened up the PH it was like your 35s5. A lot of Crap crowded into a
small space. They tried to make a 29 footer into a 32 Gulf. It didn't
work.

It did make up into exactly what I WANTED, however I still curse that
inboard engine when I have to do maintenance. Like dropping the shaft.
had to remove the hot water heater to uncouple the shaft.

You can play tricks with space (or the lack of it) but it will catch up
with ya!

The 29 Gulf has reduced wetted area tremendously. This has increased the
speed

Nutsy,

I added a picture to my page of Pneuma on the Hard. It should show you
the reduced wetted area and fine entry and cut away.

The Wing Keel stops any hobby-horse if a sea is running.

This is what makes her a better sailor than the 32.

By the way there is a picture of the Speed-o-meter as we worked up wind
at 39 degrees to the wind that was blowing 9 knots

is such a dog...I might have considered one as I love the look of PH

Thom, ever since Fisher ran an ad for the Fisher 37 with dark
(tanbark?) sails set against Ice Bergs, I've been hooked on the PH
charms. I was 13 years old when I first saw that boat. Two seasons ago
I got to sail one briefly. Not very thrilling to sail, but the PH was
fantastic and a beautifully finished. I also got to sail a Fisher
Potter 25 Ketch, but have yet to try a PH that can really sail. I
looked for a while, then gave up on buying one for now. Anyway...I have
a friend who's hooked on the idea.
