I owe my old Pearson a LOT and will always remember her fondly. All boats are stepping stones, stepping to a bigger boat, faster, newer, or just upgrades, it's all about tweaking the boat, the rig, the life, the wife....and then you die. Capt RB |

How so? You mean by eventually buying a nicer faster roomier classier boat than yours? Yep, I'm busted. RB |

Check your hinges. The 35s5 has a well earned reputation for poor hinges.
Alos, stay out of currents. The engine is weak and cannot move against currents in excess of 7 knots. Then try backing that sucker. You've got a lot to learn, sailor. "Capt. Sigh...unlike you I actually researched and test sailed the boat. All hinges were upgraded several years ago. The Volvo has an issue with some folding props, a problem on a LOT of boats. Not the case with our feathering prop we have and it bucked solid headwind and some current without a problem. Backing up is yet again a two blade folder problem, which we won't have. 28 HP 2003 Volvo in the 35s5. The heavier Catalina 36, and also late models Sabre 36, Ericson 35, J35, C&C34+ ALL have less HP!!! The Island Packet 35 and Pacific Seacraft have more and rightly so. 28 HP is correct for a boats Disp. of 13'000 to 15'000 lbs...and the 35s5 is 11'460. Nice job!!!! Bwahahahahahahahha! RB |
