Loco's Retirement!!!
Thanks to Scotty Potty, I have learned that Loco's long succesful
career and life has led up to a fine retirement yacht....The Express 30. I'm not quite 43 and my mid range choice for the next 5 years (a Beneteau 35s5) is about 100 times nicer than his Depressasaur 30! It's also (as of Nov 19th) paid for in full. It's all rather sad that Loco's lame posturing has come to this. He's stuck aboard a tired, ugly dated racer. We have a beautiful 35s5 that's faster, roomier and more versatile and it's still just a stepping stone! Loco is a true loser in life...even more so because it ends with a Depressed 30! Is that retirement or punishment? Robert B Beneteau 35s5 NY |
Loco's Retirement!!!
Thanks to Scotty Potty, I have learned that Loco's long succesful
career and life has led up to a fine retirement yacht....The Express 30. DUH .......... is this guy slow or what? How many times over the course of the last year and a half have I posted that I took an early retirement deal? And he's just now getting the message? As far as a "retirement yacht" goes I never thought of it that way. I'm satisfied with my "yacht" Don't need a bigger one for what I do. Now you may be interested in the fact I'm looking into a Flying Tiger 10 meter to continue my daysailing and racing. If I want to do any "cruising" I'll just head for the BVIs or someplace and charter. By the way I'll be down there in January while your improving your boatyard skills. In the meantime I'll be hanging out at my country estate and not in some 5th floor walkup. As far as your new ride, if it is in fact a true story, that Beneteau is nothing more than a european Hunter. And that's a fact! |

If you did you'd have to jump into a flaming pit!!!! I'm satisfied with my "yacht" Some people like to eat crap. Be happy! I'm looking into a Flying Tiger 10 meter to continue my daysailing and racing. Yeah? Weren't you also looking into a C&C 34R? Need to sell the one good kidney!? If I want to do any "cruising" I'll just head for the BVIs or someplace and charter. Yeah? When? When you win lotto??? As far as your new ride, if it is in fact a true story, that Beneteau is nothing more than a european Hunter. And that's a fact! In case anyone thinks Loco knows boats...he just said that a First series 35s5 is comparable to a HUNTER!!! And that leaves us with one big BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! RB |
Loco's Retirement!!!
In case anyone thinks Loco knows boats...he just said that a First
series 35s5 is comparable to a HUNTER!!! That's correct dude. They are sold as step up boats here while in europe they are looked at as Hunters. It's sort of like BMWs great marketing skills. They too are sold as step up cars here while in europe they are as thick as Toyotas and they are used by police and taxi companies. |
Loco's Retirement!!!
Yeah? When? When you win lotto??? ..
What a twit. Boob, when will you realize that everybody is not resigned to a life in a 5th floor walkup like you. My investments are my lotto. I've been to the BVIs every year for the past 10. |

So please tell us which Hunter has the speed and build quality of the First 35s5, First 345 or 35s7 or even Donal's more recent model based on your inspections of them. This should be interesting! Hold on, folks! We're about to learn something! (I'll get to BMW idiocy later. The guy bought a Lincoln. Nuff said.) RB |

"rgnmstr" wrote in message oups.com... As far as your new ride, if it is in fact a true story, that Beneteau is nothing more than a european Hunter. And that's a fact! That is not a fact at all. It is a stupid statement. It is true that both Beneteau and Hunter boats are designed for the mass market. However, there is one significant difference between the two manufacturers. Hunter boats are designed by the "marketing Dept." for first time buyers. Beneteaus are designed by by sailors. Real sailors will find it easy to spot the difference between the two manufacturers. Here are a few differences:- 1) A Hunter will have a cabin, where a Beneteau will have an enormous locker. 2) A Hunter will have a fixed cooker, whereas a Beneteau will have a gimballed cooker. 3) A Hunter will have a nice clean "ceiling", when a Beneteau will have grab rails that run the full length of the saloon. 4) A Hunter will have an enormous galley, whereas a Beneteau will have a galley *and* a chart table. We're going to Trinidad (our friend is launching her boat there after a 3 year restoration) in July and then Greece for our honeymoon, but then travel is always cheap for anyone who's done better than you! Do you know that my 4th floor apartment (sorry, there's elevator and doorman) is worth more than your whole net worth? We own it in Forest Hills, but don't live there anymore. You might want to check property values there...Charles Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Geraldine Ferraro all live here. Who lives in your niegbhorhood? Uncle Buck??? You've done well, Loco. A crappy Lincoln and still-born Depress 30. Well done, old man! RB |

Apartments of your type in your area go for $180,000 -220,000. I can post
the appraisers valuation from the NYC dept of Taxation if you like. That's less than the median price of a home in the US. That's almost 1/3 of the median price of a home in the NY metro area. Face it, you own the least expensive housing in the NY area. The next step down is a cardbox box under the supports of the Tri-Boro Bridge. On top of that, you think living aboard a 50K$ smallish sailboat in a crowded New York City marina is "lifestyle". I think you are an ideal candidate for "Extreme Makevoer". "Capt. post the appraisers valuation from the NYC dept of Taxation if you like. We own a 3 bedroom apartment in Kew Gardens. Current selling prices are over 300K and 2 were just sold. You can get apartments for around 200K, but not in our building so close to Forest Park. Saying you can get a real estate in a given area for a median price shows total ignorance about the market. The average cost of a home in PA where my father lives is almost half the value of his specific property. We own the apartment outright as well as a 3 bedroom home in Brooklyn that I inherited. Currently we live rent free in my wife's apartment, which she bought 9 years ago. We're also about to own our 35s5 outright and we own our 37K new Subaru SUV, WRX outright. As soon as Suzanne has two years in at her critical care unit, we'll be buying a 3rd home, probably in Mahopac. Not too shabby for someone working from home and just 42 years old. If this sort of stuff matters to you I have younger friends who are truly wealthy, but they work harder than I do. And yes..we have a nice boat and an even nicer one planned after we move! Cheers! We own a 3 bedroom apartment in Kew Gardens. Current selling prices

Loco's Retirement!!!
I'd hate to
make you feel bad by posting my country estates value. Yes, loco, that's very impressive. I'm sure we're all impressed. But I'm only 42 and my net worth is considerable. My home in Brooklyn is worth about 850K as of two years ago, perhaps even more now. Add that to the apartment. Since your retired I hope you're comfortable. RB |
Loco's Retirement!!!

Not at all since we own two other properties including the house in Brooklyn. Face it, we've started where most of you gave finished. And it'll only get better from here. I'm the ONLY person in this group who is likely to own a Swan or a Baltic and actually sail it offshore. The rest of you are phonies who will be posting here until well after your last crappy boats are sold or dying in some forgotten yard. RB Beneteau 35s5 NY |

You didn't even know what a Baltic was until I mentioned it a couple of years ago. As I've stated before you keep trying to be me. As far as other's boats being ready for the chainsaw when they get old .......... well that would be perfect timing wouldn't it? |
