Another putzsail race?

What do you think? Is it possible? Is there interest? Do I give a
sh*t?

Here's the URL for the proposition. Let me know if you want to get
added to the proposed race committee list.

I'm sure I missed one of you jokers...

When is it scheduled for? I'm going to be out that way next March.
Unfortunately the Johnson 18 won't fit in the airlines carry-on.

Don't know... March might be ok. We usually have pretty good weather,
but the wind might be kind of light.

I'm sure you could find one out here...

I guess I don't need to buy a trailer.

I recommend that all boats must be raced
by sailing backwards when sailing downwind,
and frontwards when sailing upwind.

I like that idea. Did you know that on many boats, the spinnaker pole
can be locked to the stern pulpit?

I doubt it would do much good unless you
had a spade rudder that could point the other
way.

I'll see if I can find a Soling for the race.

I've done a number of races that way. Cat-rigged dinks are pretty
easy, and sometimes don't sacrifice speed when doing so.

I've also done a number of races without rudders. I'm guessing this
has gone out of vogue since the advent of windsurfers, which is a
similar competency, but more fun.

Sailing backwards without a rudder is something I never mastered ...
